Affordability

Is it just me or is stuff in the Crown Store too expensive? @ZOS ever think about utilizing the Walmart philosophy to world domination, i.e. more for less? Or is this game not for regular folks? Perhaps you'd sell more if it didn't cost $10, $20, or $30 for one item. I just don't have that kind of bread to throw around. It might be nice if I didn't feel like playing ESO was like walking into a casino where everything was designed to get me addicted and ruin my life financially and socially.

I see plenty of people with mounts so I don't see a problem.

I would like to see them get rid of crown store spam though when I log on. If I don't give a crap about vanity items, spamming me won't change that.

There is never a time where I would be upset I missed a crown store item. I already own the 2 DLC, so enough with that nonsense.

These are not far from the standards set by other MMO game cash shops. Also if the demand is there (and it is, just look how many people have new mounts when they come out) then they're going to keep doing it.

It does somewhat suck that some of these items can be so expensive, but you have to remember this is the main income for the game now, if these limited items are not making them money we're not going to have an MMO.

But ESO, like other cash shops thinly veiled as games, indeed is designed that way. You get correct impression and if you did not get it, it would be bad, because you could unknowingly walk into disgusting P2W swamp!!!

I agree that they're too expensive. Not that I think people can't afford them, but they're expensive enough that it makes me think twice, and then more often than not decide not to buy, and I'd be surprised if I'm the only one.

I should be a prime target because I have no problem with them selling novelty items for real money, I have the money to spend and I love mounts, pets and outfits. But, excluding the free crowns I got as a "loyalty" reward I've only ever bought 3 things: the Palomino Horse, Clouded Senche-Leopard and the black Evening Dress. That's it.

I often consider getting a guar mount (the Banded Guar in particular), or some of the other senche mounts. But then I work out what it would cost in real money (I bought the 5,500 crown pack, at £24, so a 1,300 crown guar is £5.67 and the 2,500 crown Senche-Panther is £10.90) and change my mind.

As I said not a huge amount, but more than I think the mounts are worth. I made an exception for the Clouded Leopard-Senche because they're one of my favourite animals, but that meant not buying any of the others where if they were cheaper individually I probably would have bought 2 or more (quite possibly all of them).

(And before anyone trots out the same old comparison that always comes up I don't buy coffee from coffee shops either, for the same reason. I can afford it but it ain't worth it. Even more so with coffee because there are so many other, cheaper, options.)

They are not expensive at all. TBH, I think the potions and things in that area are cheap for what they offer you.

As far as mounts go, I think they are set pretty fairly as it's more for, "Hey look what I bought", more than anything. If they set the prices cheaper they wouldn't make as much, they sell their mounts regardless of the price, simply to the fact that they are mostly limited edition. And if they didn't make as much, they would have to put this game to a P2W standard which we know most would complain about more than the prices for cosmetics. ;)
