Collecting trait items for research

I am trying to collect items with traits on them for Blacksmithing research. It seems whenever a trait drops it is almost always reinforced. Does anyone have any advice on how to get more of a variety of traits to drop? Maybe like farming certain areas etc. Thank you.

    Pretty sure it's random, but if you're part of a guild just ask folks. At least on PC there are tons of people that will make you a piece with a certain trait on it for free (unless it's nirn of course).

    Also, you can buy traited items at Guild Kiosks, frequently for very cheap prices. Once those became available in the game, I stopped collecting traited items and just bought them as needed. It matters not the level of the item, but only the trait on the item.

    Note, some Dropped Set items only have one trait on them. But mob loot is definitely random as to what trait it may have, if it has one.

    Unless you're in a rush, just be patient. You will likely come across all traited items in time. If you really want to get some items researched asap, focus on prime traits, like Divines, Infused, Precise, and Sharpened. You can probably find these traited items in guild stores, or ask someone to make them for you.

    Most of my research items were farmed from dungeons and northpoint, rivenspire chests. They have a lot swords, daggers etc
