Anyone else find it confusing as to what set goes well with what role you are playing i know i do why must we have to guess what gear is good for what role we are playing make role specific gear

I like the current system. In other mmos I always picked up a lot of gear that I couldn't wear because I had the wrong class. Here I can wear whatever I like, which provides a lot of options for theorycrafting and experimenting with uncommon builds.

I see your point but for some it's hard for us to know what is the best gear for are roles and it makes things more difficult on dcuo role specific gear made it easier to understand what gear was for your role on here it's hard to tell what gear goes best for what role your trying to play

I don't even know if the gear i'm wearing sometimes is good for dpsing or not lol honestly it's confusing as heck

But seriously, this is actually a much more thought-out idea. It won't work as well in this game however, due to the fact that ESO is meant to encourage the whole "Hybrid" thing, even if you get penalised for doing so. If you're doing a fair amount of damage with the armour you have, odds are it's a DPS set. It's reasonably easy to tell just by going through and looking at the 2-4 piece bonuses if the 5pce doesn't let you know immediately.

No. The only place roles are important are in group content like dungeons and trials. For questing, you need to be a little of everything. If noob comes in and tries to spec out right off the bat as a full healer or tank, for example, they are going to have a very rough time with some of the quests.

Besides, IMO the blend of options is part of the Elder Scrolls style and charm. Want to be an argonian magicka DK heal tank? You can do that. It may not be one of the min/max metas, but if you enjoy it you can probably come up with something that works.
