Please fix

I'm not sure if my problems started when I downloaded the required Orsinium patch or if the problem started when I purchased the Orsinium DLC. At first the game would load and I would be able to play unless I was kicked for inactivity. A few days later I couldn't log on unless I reset everything and unplugged my ps4. Then I couldn't log on until I had tried to log on for five or ten times. Now I'm able to log on after an insane amount of time trying to log on. The only constant with this problem is the game will load up for a second to fifteen seconds and then boot me to the title screen. Could we get some sort of conformation that there is a problem? Also, an eta on when this problem will be fixed? Thank you.

You need to post more information so people can help you. example:

which megaserver are you trying to connect to
what country are you connecting from
what is your NAT type listed as in the ps4 setup menu
have you updated your router firmware
do you have UPNP enabled on your router setup page
Are you connecting via wifi or wired
    downloadable ESO or disc ESO?
What time of day you tried to connect
    Do other games work
    etc

I guess I never thought about describing everything. Okay, here it goes. I Live in southeast Idaho my nat type is 2. I play on the NA server. All of my other games are able to play without fail. My connection is hard wired. My modem/router is two months old. I try to log in all times of day and night. Mostly after 3:00pm MT. I have the hard copy of the game. I purchased both DLC from the crown store. have tried dancing in a circle clock wise then counter clock wis while rubbing my belly and tapping my head or was it rubbing my head and tapping my belly. When the game does load, it does so for a split second or for fifteen seconds. I know when I'm going to be disconnected when all the NPC are walking very slowly. At some point I am able to log in and stay logged in but the amount of tries is random. Anyway, the game finally loaded up for me without kicking me so I'm going to end here. If any of you have any serious recommendations I'm all ears

Try unplugging your router and plugging the ps4 directly into your cable modem or gateway device for testing purposes only. If you have cable internet and you plug it directly into your cable modem with no router then it should connect. If it doesn't, it could mean you have some kind of router/modem all-in-one device which is not configured properly.

If it does work when you plug directly into the modem then that means your router is not configured properly. Go to your router setup page (typically http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1). Look for a UPNP feature and make sure it is enabled. Update your router firmware to the latest version from the router manufacturer's webpage. Even if your router is 2 months old it could have sat on the store shelf for more than a year and the firmware could be outdated.

If you update your firmware and enable UPNP and it still doesn't work (but the direct cable modem test worked) then your last resort would be to try a 3rd party firmware such as tomato or dd-wrt....or buy a new router.

First I would like to thank all of you for your help on the subject. I'm wondering why I have to change and reconfigure everything on my end when I do not have this problem with any other game? I also didn't have this problem before the Orsinium update? I'm not trying to sound like a turd or a troll, but this doesn't have anything to do with my connection or setup of my wireless motem/router. I honestly don't know what some of your recommendations are beer ninja. Would it be possible for you to point out the best tutorial to show me how to do what you are recommending? I mean, more than just saying "Google it"

[quote="I do not have this problem with any other game? "[/quote]

Most games properly utilize UPNP (universal plug 'n play) to forward all the necessary ports to ensure the game and the chat runs properly. Zenimax's utilization of UPNP is not forwarding the proper ports for some people which is causing problems.

Think of your router like a shield that protects you from the outside world (and also makes more plugs for other devices in your house). A port is like a small hole in that shield that allows communication to go through. Before UPNP existed (back in the 90s), to play video games people had to manually type in port ranges to open holes in your shield that stayed open forever and directed all traffic through those holes to one device. When UPNP was invented, it allowed developers to have their software temporarily open ports and direct traffic to your device and then close the ports when the software is stopped. This made gaming much easier.

Let's say for example you have a cable modem through a cable service like comcast, charter, time warner, etc. Most cable companies only provide you with a cable modem which gives you internet access but does not have a built-in router to shield you from the outside world. This makes your computers very vulnerable to attacks. When I suggested that you plug your PS4 directly into the cable modem without the router, I was having you bypass the port forwarding problem for testing purposes only. If it connected, then you had identified the culprit to be your router's settings.

Let's say for example you have a modified DSL service such as AT&T Uverse. Instead of cable modems, they use a gateway device that plugs into a special data phone line from the wall. Their gateway devices have a built-in terrible quality router. It is possible to turn off that router and use your own but that's a discussion for another day. Their gateway devices should have UPNP enabled by default but configuring their gateway is a lot more difficult than a standard off the shelf router. Let me know if you have one of these DSL gateway devices because configuring them is a whole different bag of chips.

So once you plug your PS4 directly into whichever device is supplying the internet (as a test only), hopefully that should work.

If it does, then you know your router is causing the problem. You can access the router setup page by clicking on the two common links I put in my previous post. Look over each page until you find a setting that says UPNP. Make sure it is enabled. Second, look at your router and find out who the manufacturer is (example DLink, Linksys, Cisco, Asus, etc). Go to their web page and look up the model number and download the latest firmware. Firmware is like software except permanently loaded into the device to tell it how to power up and how to run. Follow the instructions on the manufacturer's web page to update the firmware. Do not do it during a lightning storm or if you are expecting a power outage or you could brick your router.

    Good luck, have fun

I had regular disconnects when I started playing eso, putting my PS4 into the router's DMZ fixed it for me might be worth a shot, here are instructions:

I have tried what beerninja has suggested and I am still having trouble logging on ESO. I am at a loss as for what to do from here. I haven't been able to log on since last night now. I tried for an hour staging last night. Today I have tried a lot throughout the entire day to no avail. Do you have any more suggestions Beerninja?

Do you have cable internet or DSL? What is the name of your internet service provider and what is the make and model number of the device that you are getting your internet from (should have a sticker on the back)?
