Hey all,

So I just wanted to make this post so that I can raise some more awareness to a few of my videos (which I make for free) so that players can be helped with the current 'difficulty' that comes with Veteran Maelstrom Arena. I'm happy to answer any questions on this thread or in the comments about the run, which is currently #4 in the world (#4th on EU and higher than all NA Scores). Hope this helps you with a particular boss or trash wave to help more players complete this great piece of new content from ZOS. Nightblade run: Link is Here

Also magicka templar is coming :P got 421k with 3 bugs (the charging bug where you can no longer use any mechanics after you've charged), a dc from game death (Thanks zos, really, not even my internet, it just kicked me out) and 2 needless deaths that I should've avoided. All in all should've been a new no.1 but oh well.

Tbh, any, most deaths are largely a result of game bugs or lack of game responsiveness. Particularly on my Dragonknight of the few times I die, when I come back from ghost form without me clicking anything my character will instantly cast healing ward, as it's cast happened before I died but the server didn't recognize it until I was dead... (Ping is not the issue). Also the Templar one I have just done last night had 2-3 bugs with toppling charge where you are locked from all abilities and simply must die, if this was fixed the other 2-3 deaths in the run would not occur in the future, it was getting late and I died to things like a wamasu on 1% or dodge rolling a second too early on last boss upstairs leaving me to get stun-locked by meteors. Moreover I got straight kicked from the server at a low % on stage 6 boss (the worst one to get a kick as the totems reset) leading to an unavoidable death, once again, not due to internet connection, a server side issue.

These videos will have to do to help you complete Maelstrom and getting it on farm

Build video's are coming after the templar and dk uploads (possibly sorc too, I'm just working around upload times atm), as I said, had some technical difficulties (Changing ISP and a failed upload to youtube on a 8gb file because of it (which took an age to upload as I don't have fibre)).

But thank you! I know I can improve on that still in many ways but hearing it's one of the best you've seen is simply what I do this for other than the competition Hope it helped you somewhat, and hopefully a followup build video will do the same

EDIT: The DK is 429k with some silly deaths and the Templar is 421 but should've been ~440k due to ridiculous deaths involving mechanic bugs and kick to login screen for no reason problems!

Haha! I had to put it, so many people running around there throwing out that the best players are using programs, macro's, items, buffs that are illegal or non accessible in ESO! Just wanted to cleanse our name

My first time in VMSA took 4 hours for my first complete without having done MSA normal or ever before (hadn't seen any videos either!), I understand it's tough and I am completely quite an exception to do it as such the first time but if you give it time , I am 100% certain most can do it.

Yes, with pratice every one can do vMA with every classe. It's just easier with sorc and NB, need more pratice with DK and templar but is not impossible.

What's your build? 5 julianos + 3 torugs + willpower + 1 molag kena?
why thief instead of shadow? how many champion pts do you have?
what's your sp dmg & crit both buffed & unbuffed?

You have a ton of magic, but still it always feels to me like pve magic nb is like a cheap/weaker version of a sorc =/
I always feel like we do less damage & have less survivability. I can't find too much that sets us apart from sorcs that would make us better than a sorc for maelstrom. But I do feel swallow soul would do you better than funnel due to the 8% inc heals while your healing ward is ticking & you swap back to main bar.
That may allow you to replace rapid regen with sap & get an extra dmg buff.

The gear setup is rather simple: 2 Nereinth, 5 julianos, 3 willpower (all spell damage), 1 normal Torugs staffs and 1 maelstrom resto. I still lack proxy det (which would replace refreshing path), good Nereinth shoulders (currently infused) and a maelstrom inferno staff. The thief deals higher dps for me as without it crit is too low to make proper use of shadow. Moreover, I'd rather have more crit than crit damage as it will give me higher hps (heals per second) on myself and overall a larger damage output in general (assassin's will crits' are amazing). Champion points are at the 501 cap and I've only ever done the grinding of 12 of them, most I achieved from leveling a new toon or two or just playing the content. I'm sure anyone over 200 or so could complete this content, even maybe with none. I would have to get back to you on the sd (I would estimate 3k ish), crit is 67.7% when buffed. Un-buffed I imagine the sd lies around 2500 ish.

I actually prefer magicka nb atm, when I did my #1 world run I had some really bad rng and probably could've got up to 70k, not bad compared to the sorcs 74k in my opinion. Survivability is far better than sorcs, damage is lesser due to no overload but still very high. You're completely right about the swallow soul (and I know this already) but I don't have any problems with my current healing, so until I do I don't feel a need to ruin my versatility to play multiple pieces of content without constantly respeccing

Haha please do, I love competition too, and all I want is to be in the top 5 really, going for no.1 is a fun bonus. Just a brief question, the dk of yours is magicka or stamina?

Hmm, interesting question If proxy was available to me I would probably toggle between proxy, refreshing and rapid regen in different combinations. For example, on the first arena (very easy), I would probably opt for the maximum dps using refreshing path and proxy prior to the boss and adds spawning, and rotating proxy on cd. The main bar I think is unchangeable. However, I was testing the WoE with a maelstrom ice staff (the only one available to me atm) and it certainly increased my dps but may make my survivability too heavily decreased. If I find that I can manage it, WoE will be placed on the main bar instead of impale, with impale moving to the off bar to replace rapid regen (but I would keep using refreshing path instead of proxy on the off bar if it was available to me, otherwise survivability would definitely be too low).

As for the SP potions... Personally I think they're the strongest on a nb and are not too hard to access, I think swapping them out for structured entropy / sap essence to give you the major spell power buff will reduce your dps. But to answer the question, in any case, I would swap out rapid regen for structured entropy as both perform a near similar job, you would reduce your healing incoming, buff empower, but gain the major spell power buff.
