How do I level up my Vampire line?

All I have is the Blood Sucker skill (haha forgot real name) but it's taking FOREVER to reach Level 2. What am I doing wrong?

You probably became vampire at a lower level than intended. It levels up just by getting xp (you don't need to slot a skill or anything), but the xp is balanced to becoming vampire at about level 45.
So just play normally and it will slowly level up.

Chances are OP purchased the Vampire Bite from Crown Store. Another reason the quest shouldn't be skipped...

Vampire line gains experience as you do, but takes a good amount to level up. Gaining experience as a low level will result in needing several levels just to rank the skill line up once.

I have a level 43 vampire and it is taking forever to level up. Werewolf was way faster. I actually think it's much better to start leveling when low level. I bought the bite for my sorc. My nightblade was bitten and did the quest. The XP is exactly the same for both of them.

My Redguard got vampirism at about level 10 and it took him until level 42 or so to max out the skill, it takes a long time if you're a low level when you're bitten. Skills level faster the more you have them slotted in your ability bar I think, so have vampiric drain + mist form + bat swarm slotted at once and it should level faster for you.

Oh I didn't realise Vampirism was different, my bad. I kept those abilities slotted for nothing! Oops.

My main picked up Vampirism around the late 30s and maxed it by the late 40s if I recall correctly. You gain more actual experience at higher levels than you do at lower and Vampirism has its own agenda. My one and only Vampire alt is currently Lv17 and is Vampire Rank 2, got it before Lv10 (9 if I recall correctly).

Actually you didn't.
Yeah, the main vampirism skill line is dependent on general XP, unlike the weapon or class skill lines.
But... the skills themselves don't max out for morphing and after without being slotted!

So there is some reason to keep them in place on occasion...
