Is lvling up in ESO similar to WoW?

You know how the first few lvls you lvl up pretty fast, but the higher lvl you are the slower it gets to hit the next lvl. Is it the same in ESO?

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

Until you get to Veteran Ranks, which are very slow and all take 750k XP each. However, they'll be removing these at the next patch and just keeping something ca,led Champion Points, which are gained after you get a certain amount of XP and increase certain specs an amount.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

    Yeah, sorta.
But that's true in most every game, at first levels come quick, the more levels you have, the more the next one costs in terms of XP.
Of course... the regions are generally balanced enough that you progress nicely through them just playing the game and doing every quest. If you also do the optional stuff, dolmen, world bosses and public dungeons, you'll easily overlevel each region...

The veteran ranks are at 850K expees at the moment, used to be way more (tthey started at 1.4 million when they went to XP-powered, then got nerfed to 1 million, and then got lowered again) - but eventually they will all vanish, and the champion system will take over, at which point every alt will be the same after they reach level 50, able to equip the best gear your main qualified for and so on.

NO. I am pretty sure leveling to 100 in WOW is as easy as reaching to your wallet and typing your credit card number.

Pretty much the most succesful MMO ever created. And other than Everquest, most MMO's mold their game around it. But we all know that you are trolling, so why did I even respond? I think I just answered my own question. Over and out.

In the way you mention, most MMO games work that way where you level very fast in the beginning. But that is where the similarities end if you compare the two.

Way faster to level up in wow. You only have two choices in ESO quest or grind mobs. PvP and dungeon farming would take way to long.

Maybe do the dungeon once to get the quest and skill point, but after that don't bother till 45+ when you get the daily undaunted quests for dungeons.

Yes pretty much, you shoot up the first levels then it slows a bit, but it slows down further when you go past level 49 and become veteran rank 1, but really its still not that slow and you get champion points at this point to improve your character not just at level up. It's taken me about 6 months to get to VR16 but that's slow compared to some people, I have tried to do every quest along the way and spent time in Cyrodiil which doesn't give you much xp. Looking back I think if I'd put my mind to it, I could have done it in half that time, maybe even faster.

There's not really much about EsO that is reminiscent of WoW to be honest. Closest may be early lvl questing is "kill this then return to me" but overall both games are about as far apart as can be in terms of feel and gameplay. I'm forcing myelf to refrain from going any further. I like EsO but WoW , for all its changes good or bad over the years , remains maybe my favorite game of all time.

Not just mmos, I can't think of a single rpg with levels that don't follow that model of leveling up faster in the beginning.

IF they ever bring selling instant max level characters or pay to win crap to ESO like they did in WOW, I would instantly stop playing.

There is a limit to how much dumbing down and casualness friendly I can go in a game before I feel like it's not even worth playing...

but there is a bookshelf in grahtwood that gives you a level in range every time you open the book if you use a certain method. you have to log out back in leave the room re enter and click the bookshelf. works for up to 20 levels after that it seems to glitch out and doesn't give you any more

ESO is like WOW in level progression. So far we have no instant boosts but XP Potions. If you are asking that question, chances are you care about end game. In which case, levelling goes like this:

1 to 50 = You won't notice much difference even if the XP is raised a bit each level.

Once you are 50, you are upgraded to Veteran Rank 1. Then is same XP each Veteran Rank up to 16. The XP gain will vary depending on what activity yo udo.

Then for end game, whilst you are V16, you have to achieve what we call champion points. They boost your stats and build. Chances are you will have gotten some during your Veteran Rank 1 to 16 levelling.

The max is 501 for the time being, and 3600 in the long run. Each champion point costs more than the other.

So your goal is V16 Character with 501 Champion Points, that is the max "level" in ESO.

Conclusion is that much longer to attain a maxed ESO character compared to a maxed WOW character.

I seriously need more character slots. I keep getting ideas about leveling experiments:

    1) Level a toon through PvP only
    2) Level a toon through crafting writs and exploration only
    3) Level a toon through dungeon runs only (maybe group and public dungeons, I don't know)

Just to see how long it would actually take.

It's mostly like leveling in WoW, only less repetitive (the first time, that is). The main difference is that max level in ESO is a trap. The best experience is leveling, and it's in my opinion the best leveling experience of any MMO I've played.

But there's nothing remotely like proper or worthwhile "endgame", although some people stubbornly argue the opposite.

Generally from my last experience from WoW I would say ESO is more easier with it's direction. But really it's up to how you want to complete the quests, you want to collect 200 raptor and ogres to collect the meat where the ogres meat is used for t he bread or just having fun quests where you learn more by talking in ESO?

Oblivion has a more steep progression.

You really cannot compare the most basic mechanic of every single RPG in existance both single-player and multi-player between 2 games. Some games make it easy, some make it hard, but no RPG with a leveling system kept a single set amount of experience needed between levels to reach the next level. It always changed at least a few times.

Furthermore why do you want to compare to WoW anyway? Nobody cares about World off Wardraft.

I still don't get why so many people seem to hate WoW as if it killed their firstborns.

Anyway to the OP, no in the sense that this game's leveling takes a LOT longer. Zeni may fix that. But not sure about the timeline.

That said, if you have oodles of hours to play and/or few responsibilities, you'll be fine.
Disabling the grass may improve performance.
