Interact button same as jump button is ridiculous.

Context: I play on XB1.
I run to an NPC to try and interact with them. If the crosshair isn't directly on them or I press A too soon, I jump past them. Same with chests, resource nodes, pretty much anything else you can interact with.
I know it's minor, but it's incredibly annoying. I know what could be done to fix it.
Maybe to jump, you merely have to tap the button, and to interact you have to hold it down for 0.5-1 second?

✭I cannot confirm it's the same on XB1, but on PS4 one of the other control templates has jump on the right toggle.0 -

✭✭✭Normally it's the interaction that interferes with my jumping. Super annoying but this as Kai plainly said is The Elder Scrolls lol

The problem with alloying custom key binding is that controllers lack buttons so some buttons have to double up. By offering multiple templates, they are able to provide multiple options with reasonable overloaded buttons.
I tried use a controller for like 15 min on PC just to experience it and I found it quite awkward. Menus were truly brutal.0 -

✭You can go into settings and choose the alternate button button layout. I use it, it maps jump to R3 and leaves A (X in my case on PS4) for interactions alone.

Holding to interact would make sense though and save people like myself from an awful lot of annoyance. I constantly deal with bugs and fishing holes forcing me to dismount because I went to jump just as my crosshair picked up on them, or anything else interactive for that matter! Samphaa✭✭✭Ps4 players are lucky because we can custom map the controller, the only problem is it changes it for everything on the console. I switched my sneak and bar swap around because I was sick of having to keep taking my thumb off of the movement stick to bar swap, now it's just a click on the right stick. But like I said, it changes it for all games/apps.0
