Are swords good for dual wielding?

Been using dual swords for a while now. Just wondering if it's advisable to do so. Would dual daggers be better? The stats seem to indicate they both do the same damage. What about axes or maces?

Aside from the dual wielding passive that gives you an additional effect based on what kind of weapons you're using, how can using each weapon affect your performance in combat?

Also, is Weighted a trait worth using? I put it on some dual daggers I crafted and the difference in attack speed was very small.

Did you read the post? I mean besides that.

Aside from that very passive, is there any difference whatsoever besides aesthetic?

Weighted used to be good when it affected the speed of all attacks, spells etc. but that was too OP so they made it just affect light/heavy attacks. As I've heard, these are capped at a 30% reduction due to the internal cooldown on them, so it's a wasted trait other than research.

Most guides suggest dual daggers for stamina dual wield, or mace/dagger if you already have really high (70%+) crit rating.

For magicka dual swords is the way to go as the extra damage applies to spell effects on that bar, though I went with sword/dagger on my magicka NB.

The difference is all in the Twin Blade and Blunt passive.
