I don't use wrecking blow on my nightblades, kinda feel like it's a cheese skill, but you do well with it regardless. Glad to see you're having fun with the stamblade and doing some good 2vX.

Wrecking blow is no better or worse than Surprise attack in my opinion. You trade a cast time for ~40% more damage. The CC on it is redundant because any good NB will use fear in a 1vx - 2vx situation, rather than relying on the knockback.


That being said, I did switch back from Crit charge / wrecking blow to Ambush/ surprise attack. As IMO it has more burst. Which I desperately need because my damage is much lower than Abey babeys.

Right, I also prefer not having the cast time that WB needs. Basically the same reason I originally got away from being an archer back in 1.4/1.5 with snipe's casting time.

I use ambush/surprise attack myself. The guaranteed crit from charge (and slightly lower stam cost) is tempting, but opening from combat from stealth and getting the empower from ambush is the way I prefer to go.

Still, it's impressive that he keeps using WB even in the midst of a 2v8 or whatever that was in the video, and similarly impressive is how they had now clue how to counter it. Clearly they were a little new to pvp, but tbh it's pretty fun to just dominate a group of opponents like that from time to time

I tried both, and just like the feel of the 2h skills better, just flat more fun to play with. As far as opening combat from stealth, i try and get that with bow heavy and poison injection and then gap close from max distance.

I watched my dps meter when using both bar set ups and i was getting similar numbers, the biggest diff is its so much easier for me to keep my stam under control when using the crit charge + wb. That being said, surprise attack is great for keeping constant pressure in a 1 v 1, that fight with dark matter at the end probably could have gone a lot quicker with an ambush/sa setup, especially in the clouding swarm.
