So I've been playing for a while now, and I've always wondered why 2h always gives you far more dps than a staff, especially lore wise. In Skyrim for example, you could wield a spell in one hand and a weapon in the other, and even in the beginning cinematic there's that elf that wields a spell in main hand and a sword in offhand. I was just wondering why that couldn't be possible in ESO.
The lore is there, and the animation could just be a general energy emanating from the main hand, and it could give a boost to spell damage that's finally in sync with 2h so magicka users don't look weird using a stamina based weapon to boost their magicka based damage. The passives could boost magicka damage and defenses, the light attacks could be the melee sword, and the heavy could be a ranged pure magicka attack, instead of an elemental based attack.
I'm just throwing together a few ideas to show you that it could be a great addition to the game if it is well thought through. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Any thoughts to contribute to this, or reasons why this could never be a reality? I know quite a few people ask about new classes and new skill lines, so this may get more people back into the game.
