I'm trying to level up but this get 7 is just strolling the area.I'm in a 41 lvl area and he's just riding around dragging ads so my group can kill them. He said it's an mom dog and he can do what ever he wants. I already reported him for deliberately disrupting my groups gameplay and strolling but I don't have all year to wait for the eso Team to do something about it. What can we do?

Screen captures are your friend. Send a clip of the behavior to ZOS.

It is an MMO, so there is a lot of stuff people can do. But trolling is reportable.

He could have just been farming mats, but when he saw you getting upset about it he decided to be a prat. If he was just farming mats, there's not a whole lot you can do about it. It's a legit part of the game.

There's a certain grind spot that a few people go to.

Usually, people group up and pull things in the correct order so respawns are flawless. Sometimes someone comes along and start jump ahead of you. Doesn't accept invites and is just really selfish about it.

So I'll log on my NB and just fear everything he pulls until he gives up as he can't grind. Then go back to grinding my right character

    Lol, prove it.

He's stopping other people grinding efficiently, so why should he?

And come on, nobody reports people in game unless someone is being properly abusive or racist in some way. Who reports people for trolling and why would ZOS care.

So OP, fight fire with fire

There is now rule that says that you have a right to grind efficiently.
If there was one such rule. You would have to prove that it is not you that is stooping him from grinding efficiently.

    It's not about being entitled.

If you try to involve someone and they join, fine. But people will turn up and cut their nose off to spite their face by ruining the respawns time for everyone including themselves

The difference is that while his goal is to gain experience by killing mobs, your goal is solely to make another player miserable.

The former is expected player behavior, the latter can get you banned.

No, he knows what he's doing. Rather than grouping and sharing xp from all mobs, he's just trying to skip ahead and get max xp from a handful of mobs. It benefits nobody.

How do you find it fun to grind it out? I have just hit "endgame" (in that I got my first VR16) and it's boring as, because I've run out of quests and all I've got left is an endless gear grind and some repetitive dailies.

Also, I've accidentally run into a few grinders like yourself and had my face chewed off because "I'm ruining the pull", even though I happen to be doing the quest or running the delve in that area like a normal person. I have no time for people who believe they're entitled to grind their way through the game

Note: I may be being a bit harsh; it is very late and I had an awful day, so if I went too overboard you can blame me later...

Not being efficient at grinding is allowed. Not wanting to group with strangers is allowed. Even if it interferes with said stranger's 'perfect pull' routine. The stranger has no claim to the area.

But doing an activity that has no other purpose than to make other player miserable is not allowed. Do it at your own risk. If i was a mod witnessing the situation, it would be you who would end up with a warning/ban, not him.

I get what he's doing isn't against the rules.

Most people have a bit of an etiquette though.

If I turn up at a grind spot, I'll either ask in chat or hit the group emote. If I get ignored, I'll move on and find another one.

If I'm at one and someone turns up I'll invite them to group. Even of they don't, the very least they can do is do the same route as others, not just selfishly try to jump ahead of everyone.

I know it's not anybody's spot and people can do what they want, but it is a bit of a d*ck move and know what they're doing.

Same as resource node thieves. Are they breaking the rules? No. Do they know what they are doing? Yes. Is it a d*ck move? Yes.

I guess I'm nobody. I do report people in game for similar things. For example, on a low lvl ALT I entered a public dungeon and ran into a high lvl VR players killing all the mobs. Fine, so I went the other way. They followed me. So I stopped. They stopped. I asked them to leave me alone. They didn't. I moved somewhere else, the followed, killing everything. I told them I would report them if they didn't stop. They didn't, so I reported them.

If you're playing the game, fine. if you are trying to ruin the game for others, problem. if you're grinding and someone comes into the area playing the game, too bad if they mess-up your rotation. If they intentially are messing you up, bad on them.

No place is the game is labeled as "grind spot".
There are some places that grinders occupy selfishly for their own XP purposes, making it impossible for anyone else to play the game normally in those areas. Those become "grind spots".

First off.. I do not respect grinding.. so if you were standing and killing the same mobs, over and over.. not only would I laugh at your reaction, but I might help him, because "I need the hides from the drops." YOU I would tell to head to a public dungeon down the road. If he is a level 7 in a level 41 area, you already know he has a higher level.

Now, if he was WAY over your level 41, (like a Vet 7) and you were a guildie, trying to level normally doing quests.. I would bring my BA VR16 DK over, and chase him around. Everything he pulled, for as long as I could stand it, I would talon and dps to death. When HE whined I would telll him to find another spot. He is getting NO xp from those mobs, no matter what he tells you. He literally is just griefing you.

No idea what a "mom dog" is, btw.

I was in Orsinium's dwemer public dungeon the other night *rynkjdealeklsfakwjef* (north east of Orsinium)

And in retrospect I think i might have ruined a groups 'grinding' pattern.

I was just going through it solo, doing the quests.

As far as etiquette, no. I'm just as entitled to do my stuff solo, as others are to group and 'grind' (yuck)
I was not interested in grouping or talking to them.

I ended up at the last boss (hardest too). And proceeded into a LONG fight,
after a few near deaths (cz he hits hard as hell for me) I figured out how to wear him out, using one of the pillars to distance myself from him constantly in order to land a few hits.

15-20 min later, he was at 2/3rd health. I was so close to friggin SOLOING him and giving me that nice feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Instead, a group of 3 people entered, saw me fighting him, and 'helped' me finish him off. (i did not need the help but did not think of it until now)

Again in retrospect, i realize that was most likely some of the group arriving in the area. They probably message their group that some prick was ruining the boss and almost had it killed. They probably raged against me.

Well if all that is true. Right back at grinding groups. You ruin my solo experience. My immersion. Quests no longer make any sense with PvE zergs running about. Bosses are crazy stupid easy in a group of 12. You should all be reported and banned.

Did I nail the logic on these forums with this post?
*No I'm not being serious -_- so you got trolled? It's a mmo..... it's where trolls were born*
