How about some open world PVP?

where i have to fight in quests against the other factions, npcs

How about turning immersion up a notch for some good old OPEN WORLD PVP, maybe starter zones could remain sanctuary but despite how infuriating stranglethorn vale was i knew there was another faction out there, there is a war being fought and i should not be strolling in the woods like nothing is happening. Gankers aside, fighting some lvl 40s vs lvl 40s is better than magically levelling to v15 and have no chance against opponents with v16 gear and full CP.

Caldwells? (sic) add an option to turn it off if i am not "experiencing x faction", after v16 the quests that feature is used for nothing more than completion

i think this could help the apparent emptyness of the silver / gold zones, its rare to see people, and cities and zone chat are usually dead.

    the make pve zones pvp in a pve/pvp game was discussed to death a decade ago. If you want a zone where there is pve/pve there is wvw zones - demand will drive out how widespread wvw zones are..there is little demand.

    Is Cyrodiil NOT big enough for you?

    I mean its HUGE as is. it takes probably 5-10 minutes to cross form one corner to the next. and thats with a 60 speed mount and rapids

    Justice system 2.0 is said to have some open world pvp be Criminal VS Enforcer. But I don't mind if ZOS delays his for some thing like open world PvP has to be flawless none of the tiny exploits that players have been abusing as of now. Cause a open world PvP with exploits can and will cause alot of players to quit out of frustration of literally always dieng or of course grief players being "that guy" and killing you for no good reason.

    So it is a idea that some players want but has to be 100% perfect other wise it will cause utter chaos on the game.

    seems like it would be cool, and could work. i dont think AP should be rewarded for kills outside of cyro and IC though.

    I think I remember ZOS talking about making the towns come into play more with PVP. I could be wrong, but I'm sure I heard that somewhere..
    If that's true, it could be the open world, small-scale PVP we've been looking for :smiley:

    You can't make people to only have small scale PvP. IC was supposed to be small scale and it is not. If PvE areas are opened up to PvP all you create is raids roaming around and gankers griefing quest hubs, just like cryo is now.

    Imp city is small scale, open world, pvp. The smaller scale groups are much easier to find and gank in imp city then Cyrodiil. And most large groups are yummy PvE players you kill with a miss! B)

    Justice system Phase 2, with a "Guard" skill line is suppose to be some sort of bounty hunting. I recall Paul Sage saying they didn't iron out the details for it not to be a pain for PvE. Justice system is great! I'm sure this followup will be cool too.

    That is more to do with the justice system but unsure on that, basically a sort of cops and robbers set up.

    It is, and frankly horse simulator from keep to keep is lame. Its not the size that matters, its how you use it B) the only thing between keeps is a random ganker here and there. I am not a pvp god or anything, its kinda silly to only have one empty big ass arena that is cyro; this is war after all,

    theoretically it should lighten the load, dont think zergs are gonna move to other areas, there should be no AP gain or siege outside cyrodiil, its not about the points, its about immersion and a sense of awareness

    Heck, put in some lockout on attacking +10 levels below you or smth. Some PVE people wanna do some PVP now and then, battle leveled and all if you dont have a group you wont make it in IC above ground where PVE is, and farming isnt fun.

    The idea is not to merge PVP and PVE, but to add the possibility of it, a dash here and there.

    As much as I'd like to see some open world PvP in ESO, I want them to fix the PvP we already have before adding more and breaking other things in the process.

    I'd love to see open world pvp, simply because it would drive this game right into teh grave where it needs to be. Then maybe it would get fixed.

    They should make a dedicated server for it. Anyone ever seen the server mordred from DAOC? Open world pvp everyone is an enemy except your guild mates and all factions can play with each other....I hope someday they do this.

    There were like 3 people playing on Mordred, maybe 4 in Sunday evening prime time. The demand for such a ruleset just doesn't exist, a dedicated server and the effort to convert the game would lose ZOS tons of money, so they won't do it.

    lefty lucy uploaded a video review on an eastern game, that has some sort of pvp costume/item/flag to enable open PvP in some certain contested areas.. maybe something more along the lines of this,

    so pve farmers can farm in peace

    If the entire world of Tamriel was not instanced per zone and there was a separate PvE and PvP server this would be the best game ever.

    I would play in the PvP server. The war can expand beyond cyrodill on the PVP server and people cowardly hide in the walls of the main city. This is war as it's best.

    For me the most fun zone to PvE was Cyrodill. Doing the quests/delves/dolmens and other exploration was the best thrill I had since Darkfall.

    Would lose to many players, pve is a large part of ESO and the largest part of the player base, no company is going to jeopardize that part of their customer base. They would have to do it where it did not disrupt the pve player base.

    This is not new, a lot of games do this, a lot of long-lasting games do this, and yes, they should give an option to enable or disable open world PvP, or "contested" zones

    i wonder why so many farmers complaining? PvE past 50 is kinda meh
