Why are there Official Posts made other places than this forum?

There have been posts regarding Lag fixes for Cyrodiil, 64bit client coming Q1 2016 and such all made on the Reddit forums, but not here? I would think you would want your customer base to know those kind of things are coming, yet they are put on another website, and people have to find them there to place a link here. Just really curious as to why this happens. I would think you guys would score some much needed points with your playerbase by doing so. Just a thought.

Completely agree, considering the fact that only a small portion of the player base actually come to the official forums, and most do not have a clue, yet somehow relevant intel is posted on other sites.

    Love the logic...

Welcome to one of the great delemmas. If you dig through the forum history you will see a good deal of complaining that this is not the first place for information from the devs.

I tried checking out Reddit, but it looked so weirdly put together that I gave up.Just me though.I came back here where it;s easy to see and the forums have well put together sub forums.

Yeah that's why I've never bothered with it, it's no laid out in a linear fashion, it's more like YouTube comments where each post has it's own sub thread, it's too confusing.

I am a savvy internet user. I know how to click links. I don't care where they post information at. I will find my way to it.

On a serious note, @Dominoid is pretty good with the ESO Reddit. If you look through his previous posts, you will do find a link to a summary of the notable information obtained during the Reddit ama as well as a lot of other useful info.

Lag Fixes as a priority were announced here first on November 11, 2015

Give me any topic and I'll tell you where it happened HERE first or ESO Live. There is simply too much "noise" (to put it politely) to be seen here. It doesn't happen elsewhere exclusively. It almost always without exception happens here first. People just like to complain about things that aren't necessarily true.

Sadly that "digging time" is apparently not spent actually looking for the answers that exist here first.

They actually announced that the AmA would be happening on Reddit, on the official forums. They also posted a link to it once it started, AND explained why it was on Reddit rather than on here.

"Why are there Official Posts made other places than this forum?"

Probably because ZOS' professional PR team thinks that the forums are "toxic" or something and don't want gaming journalists following links that lead here. Either that, or they're trying to work some SEO voodoo, and Reddit is better for gaming Google's PageRank than a post on the forums.

How about reading what's been posted above? EVERYTHING that has been posted on other forums has been posted here first.

Maybe, just maybe, this forum grew "hostile" because of the absence of communication, not the other way around? Ever thought of that?

It is bizarre to say the least.

Someone above claimed they said why it was on reddit but not on here; but I shouldn't have to click through all those links just to see why.

Care to copy & paste here?

Reddit is much better for an Ask us Anything than a normal forum. Imagine having to go to page #153 to read the question that is being answered on page #374.

Also, having a presence outside the official website might help bring new customers.

Been this way for a long time, and been debated before. Still now idea why they don't support their own official forums first.

I understand AMA's and such over on Reddit but I do feel the Dev's should be replying to questions on these forums first before chiming in over on Reddit. It's getting better but still not perfect over here.

WTB Dev Blogs & Upcoming features feedback threads.
