[IDEA] How to replace RNG gear grind: Faction rep tokens!

Greetings,

To help alleviate the frustration of the current RNG^RNG system of MAYBE getting a drop and it MAYBE having traits that make any sense whatsoever to the set it is for, I would humbly propose the following solution:

Introduce a faction rep and token system.

Current veteran dungeons would each have their own faction affiliation related to the lore surrounding that dungeon. Running those dungeons on normal would net you some rep with them, veteran more. It would also net you tokens that could be spent at the faction's quartermaster outside the instance.

To access higher quality gear (Molag Kena sets, etc.) you would have to reach say Honored with the faction (run the dungeon enough times) at which point you could spend your saved tokens on whichever piece of the set you wanted in light, heavy, or medium, and with whichever traits you wanted.

This would give running pledges a genuine positive sense of progression as opposed to generating constant frustration, making people resent their PUG members when they didn't get the magickal lottery drop they were after for the time invested, and generally making people more hostile, exclusive, and elitist as is now increasingly the case.

I welcome all feedback, such as making the re-traiting of gear a separate mechanic that crafters could do for ANY gear.

No to the faction part. Screw that noise, we have enough faction garbage in the game with the war of three armies. If anything, I would unlock access to all three undaunted enclaves in the game to all players above 50.

That being said, token systems are the way to go. I think some manner of RNG might not kill people, but if I select "Helmet Coffer" from the vendor, it should be a guaranteed monster helm, even if the Trait and type of Monster helm is totally RNG'd.

I do not want 30 different type of money in the game. It creates more problems than it solves and different types of money just a step into p2w type system.

I don't either, which is why a single undaunted currency (BoP) would probably solve the issue.

For those who might had missed it -- I will re-post what ZOS said on this matter.

Yeah we've gotten a lot of feedback on the top of BoP Orsinium items. We specifically made the Orsinium sets at a high drop rate and then made them BoP so the economy didn't get flooded. We wanted players who don't have time to play all day to complete sets on their own, but still have access to trading via new crafted sets.
In future content we will probably adjust this model somewhat. It's definitely nice to be able to find a cool item that you don't need and trade it to someone who can't wait to get their hands on it."

TBH, I much more interested in crafting new gear, then farming loot drops.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any of the BoP gear is any good, at least from a DK stam build. But hey, I would rather be able to at least trade it for another piece of gear, that might help but also suck>
