Which 2H gains the best bonus from Heavy Weapons passive?

Sword 5% WD
Axe 16% chance to dot 8k dmg on melee attack
Mace ignore 20% target physical defense.

Mace IMO but i don't have the info available to test like a pc user has.

Yea, I'd like to see some math. I always used mace because it's a straight out debuff in pvp. The Axe dot is so hit and miss with the low %. The WD of 5% is too low for me on swords.

But, others may know more, why I asked. :)

I prefer GS but Mace with a 20% boost to penetration is really good but the META will say GS cause "oh bonus damage to all stamina attacks" and bla bla. To the META anything that increases raw damage is "the best"

If you use any moves that apply major fracture, go with the GS. If you do not, then I say go with the maul.

sharpened maul. You can find math surrounding this on tamrielfoundry

Nice video. But aren't you forgetting that without fracture, the GS isn't penetrating armor and therefore the damage is getting reduced. All the time, everytime. If you take out CP and consider just the weapon, the maul is going to do more damage, especially to light armor sorcs.

It's hard to make sure your actual math is what's happening in game since console has no dps meters.

But, I do like the attention to detail in the math. I may just create a legendary GS and try it.

What was, or is, this bug with Sharpened Mace? If you're below 50% crit, wouldn't you go with precise to max crit?

Mace is very good against target without shields since shields ignore any rules of armor etc. so against sorc u will have very low profit but against normal "armor-users" its the best way to push ur dmg.

Comparison: I have a friend with 3k weapon dmg and mace and he does as much with his wb as i do with 1k more weapon dmg.

Sword allways gives u dmg no matter what and axe gives a very nice bleed which scales off ur weapon dmg and can reach crazy numbers, i crit the dot for average 2-3k dmg and thats very nice additional dmg but it can be purged or cloaked

I got a 2h precise maelstrom axe on my first run. I ditched my sharp mace and have not looked back.
One crit rush now applies 2 pretty serious dots. It seems to me that the axe dot is applied 100% of the time (at least from crit Rush) and ticks for 3.5 to 7.5 on crit. Combined with the maelstrom dot, one crit Rush fully buffed will kill a v16 mamoth, ogre, or giant.

    Im liking axes ATM... Finally!
Thanks @wrobel for making weapon choices!
Now please buff ice & lightening staves
