Why Malachite is bond?

Hi, Malachite Shards can be traded and sold to other players. Malachite itself is not tradeable or sellable (it's bond after refining shards) - will it be changed?
What logic is in Malachite being not available for trading, when other refined crafting materials are not bond?

I wanted to see what happens with shards after I gathered 10 of them, but forgot to check or ask someone, and bum... accidentally refined them, without having glass style motif. Now I just keep this 1 item in bank awaiting for more gold for the motif  .

Aye I hear ya, but tbh logic and Zos do not go hand in hand most of the time.

Because they don't want malachite from crown shop to be tradable.

So they allow to trade for gold the raw mats, which they give us in chests for free, and which are needed to make malachite without crowns. But the malachite itself is not tradeable. Can't understand this logic ;).

If average MM cost for malachite shards is now 400g, it means 1 malachite = 4k gold, and 10 pcs. = 40k gold, more or less.
I wonder how many players actually buy malachite for crowns, considering that people are trading the vet items for much more money.

I can understand non-crafters being unhappy with new style materials like Malachite and Laurel being bound, but crafters should be thrilled by this. It adds a great deal of value to their abilities. Anyone looking for new Wrothgar crafted sets will have to find a 9-trait crafter (happy to help there xD). And if you want it crafted in Mercenary style, the crafter has to be a dungeon crawler as well. Crafting is finally getting some of the value that was promised at game release.

As for OP refining trade-able Malachite shards into untrade-able Malachite, all I can say is, It pays to read the patch notes.

No. The only thing it is doing is taking crafting away from the crafters that have a life and giving it to the no-lifers like everything else.

To be honest I do not find anything special in those new Orsinium crafting sets. Anything that could rule over Twice Born Star set.
I'd like to see a new set allowing 3 or more mundus stones active at the same time  .
