Why repair walls? Masonry 300 AP for 27 AP

I like the new visual on the bottom left screen that shows how much AP you're getting for all your actions in Cyrodiil. However, now that we see you only get 27 AP for each Masonry stone you use for repairing walls, no one wants to purchase stones to help build walls.

I was with 40 players and took over Alessia. Afterward, about 20 players left and only about 5 of us started repairing the outer wall. As I saw the 27 AP pop up on the screen for each repair, I started realizing I just spent 9K AP for 30 stones and only getting 27 AP for each. WTH! So now I know why no one wants to repair walls anymore. Everyone left and the inner wall was wide open. I logged off.

Its more about using them to level up your character, reach Tier 3 rewards, or get on the leaderboard..

Yes we know that... Everyone thought the AP return was in the hundreds not 27. I see now that I get more AP healing with Mutagen without spending any AP.

ZOS needs to either lower the cost of masonry or raise the AP return.

I'll just leave with everyone else. Every keep will have huge holes in the walls.

If you cast igneous shield before using every stone you get like 36 AP. It's not much, but it adds up!

Interesting... I don't think I have that. I was getting 80 to 90 for each Mutagen heal.

    Subject question was only rhetorical.

Is this from the group buff or what? I don't see how it affects repair as a heal...

I have no idea how it works. A former emperor showed me, so I tried it out after we got the tips showing us how much AP we're earning. Casting Igneous definitely boosted the AP I was receiving, but I had to cast it for EVERY brick otherwise I'd get the normal amount.

I think they should just lower the cost of wall repair kits.. or even make them free! Then everyone would hurry to repair the walls & score some cheap AP. Even if they were say 27AP each so the use of them pays for the next one. I bankrupted my low level character paying for repair kits & siege & had to go grind a few hours of PVE to get some gold together.

I've been levelling a new char on the non-veteran Blackwater Blade & it's so common to find a keep with no players in it & a big hole in the wall. There was even the hilarity of rocking up with the Zerg to Glademist keep & busting a hole in the wall to get in... only to discover there was already a hole in the outer wall just around the corner! Even more LOLs when some support guys turned up & asked in chat why we busted the place up so bad :)

I'm sure people who don't make tons of AP dislike the 1 to 10 ratio, but it's there to prevent people from gaining lots of ap without actually contributing anything to fights.

Repairing walls is beneficial only for raids who are actually doing objectives to get Emp for someone etc. It does nothing for solo players unless you are really desperate to unlock some AW skill.

ZOS could make Daily Quests for repairing walls, doors en using Sieges.

And rewards for Daily Quest should go up in general except for the Daily Quests to kill enemy players.
That will contribute to a decrease of the zerg player farming as well.

Repairing walls is a way to buy AP with gold, for people with lots of gold to burn.

You get more AP with ingeous because ingeous boosts healing done, and repairing wall technically counts as 'healing'(and the AP given depend on heal amount done). Another way to boost the AP reward is killing a cyrodiil delve boss for the AP gain buff.

Igneous, for X amount of time after casting, increases your healing done, and the game recognizes repairing walls as healing. Used to be able to slot a resto staff and get more AP per wall repair as well.

Someone told me that was being patched out with Orsinium? If it's still there I need to remember to use my resto staff again when repairing.
