Heavy attack resource return values

Hello everyone. I necro'd this year-old post: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/133166/heavy-attack-resource-return-values/p1 and am making one dedicated to my question in case everyone ignores that one.

Is the information in that thread still accurate? I am having a horrific time sustaining my magicka as a sorc and I'm not even using the 2 set Molag Kena. Using 5:1:1 Light/Med/Heavy for Undaunted Mettle, and one accessory has 203 reduced spell cost with the other two being spell damage. Also running Atro mundus. I have about 200 CP's so obviously plenty of room to grow there but I'm trying to do some research and see what as far as play style/cp point spending I can do to improve.

Thank you all in advance for any advice/information/experience you can provide regarding my situation.

As far as casting spells and attacking is concerned I am doing medium weaves. Sorry I didn't mention that.

Wouldn't have any idea what the numbers are now, but it's more than likely the post from over a year ago is inaccurate.

If you have problems to sustain your dps, heavy attacks won't help. Make sure that someone (preferbly a healer, but if he can't, you can do it) runs elemental drain on bosses and bigger trash mobs, then you should be fine.

Gear is extremely important, what are you running? What abilities are you casting? Resto staff's heavy passives give back magicka, if that's what you want?

Seducer goes a long way, a max magicka build goes a long way.

Dark Conversion is an idea, but I can't suggest too much without more info.

OFC heavy attacks return magicka to the magicka pool....

I run Destro and restro on my sorc,
When i start to see i am running low i swap to my resto staff and heavy attack with it as it returns more magicka than a destro.

As far as gear I am running the more or less cookie cutter overload setup which is 5pc Julianos, 1 Kena, Torug hat w/ Torug D Staff and Torug Swords. vMSA is obviously beyond me and my sub 200 CP's at this point and farming normal is terribly boring.

Unfortunately a resto staff just isn't viable should I intend on doing damage. It is significantly worse than dual swords.

I may just end up having to run my own elemental drain as most of my healers are templars and they are running a resto staff/dual sword setup to maximally do damage while they heal these days. I can't easily run Bound Aegis if I do that, but QoL I'm sure is much better.

    Thanks for the input.

I know, this is an extremely sad fact. Healers should ALWAYS put elemental drain as a damage optimised healer will never be able to generate the same damage output as an optimised dd. For some reason, 90% of random healers I meet don't seem to understand that.
No magicka dd (except pucturing sweep templars) can even remotely sustain himself without losing dps, if no one puts drain. And dds changing skills, equip or playstyle to deal with lazy and self centered healers is a consequence that won't help anyone in the long term.

... you can't switch out the destro staff as a magick sorc. Like... I don't even... If any sorc is having problems with health... for the love of god run power surge. All health problems for solo content are solved with that(IC/Sewers as an exception because healing is halved so you have to get a little more creative).

Elemental Drain helps, but it's not nearly as effective now that Force Shock's 3 hits are landing mostly all at once. Rarely one hit lags a bit and we get 2 procs, but it's a far cry from the guaranteed 3 mana procs we used to get.

All I wanted to know was if medium weaves are restoring magicka and if so how much to see if that 1% more magicka restored on heavy attacks CP was worth a damn.

ask your healer to provide siphon spirit and apply ele drain yourself that way you regain ~2-4% per attack round.
