Question for ZOS - DLC getting lower in price as time passes after release?

I wanted to ask if the price for DLC would decrease as time passed.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. IC DLC currently costs 2500 crowns. Assuming you intend to keep up with quarterly DLC (I heard that was a thing), then that means next September a total of 4 DLCs will have come out after IC (including Wrothgar). At this time, will IC still cost 2500 crowns, or will it have decreased in price?

Another thing. My friend that plays WoW tells me that all major expansions, aside from the most recent, are free because they've been out for so long. Assuming the prices would decrease over time, I wanted to ask if, after say...2-3 years, would the DLC be available as part of the base game?

I'd really apppreciate an answer to this.

DLC getting cheaper? Don't bet on it. But sales? Possibly!

WOW is a subscription based game... ESO is not. I would assume that DLCs will NEVER be part of the base game.

Now, if you subscribe to ESO for $15... all DLC will be free to access. So in a year, when we have 5 DLCs, you can subscribe to ESO+ for $15 and get access to all 5 DLCs for one month.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I don't know that you should expect an official answer to this question while they are still actively trying to sell the first two DLC packages, both released within the past few months, at full price. It's a little early.

There's really no way anyone could answer this. You're asking if they will discount prices or what the game will be in 2-3 years. We're lucky if we see 2016 let alone any time in the distant future

There's no way they would answer a commercially sensitive question like this in advance

It's not just WoW. Almost every MMO folds older DLCs into the main game after a period of time (actually, I can't think of one that hasn't done this, but I'm sure they exist). Generally you buy the game and get everything but the last year or two of DLCs included in the box price. It would be too big a barrier for new players otherwise, and would considerably hamper growth.

Well, hopefully that happens with this.

If, in a years' time, my friend wants to play the game, I want him to have as few barriers as possible so we can play together.

They'd be essentially killing their own game if they didn't.

And no-one say "they can just sub". The game went B2P for a reason.

They may run bundles. But I don't see a huge incentive to drop prices.

WoW is subscription based; however, you can play for free as they've created a way to purchase subs with in-game gold.

This is an unreasonable question no matter how you look at it. ZOS is a business, and ESO is a product. Would you pose a similar question to Apple and expect a response? Even if they answered there would be no guarantee that they wouldn't make a different decision in the future.

Erm, demonstrably yes. This question is always posed to Apple (and pretty much every other business). You'll find a ton of articles that ask this very thing. Future pricing plans is a very standard and not at all unreasonable question. You are right though that there is no guarantee that you'll get a straight answer, spin and PR also being a standard response in these situations.
