PS4: Vet Maelstrom

First I'd like to say that Wrothgar looks amazing.

With that being said, I made my way to the Maelstrom Arena yesterday while farming nodes and gave Normal a shot to learn the mechanics. While it wasn't difficult to learn/complete, I am imagining that Veteran is going to be hellish.

I should have my last bit of V16 Gold Julianos crafted/enchanted today and I hope to pop up on that leader board shortly after.

What's everyone's experience been with it?

Side note: Anyone finally get their V16 ICP clear? I heard the difficulty dropped quite a bit.

I see you have a dps sorc. Vet Maelstrom should be a breeze. Otherwise it's pretty hellish. Maybe too hard for some classes.

Yeah, it's rough if one's not a Magicka Sorc or Magicka NB.

It's pretty amazing how difficult Vet is compared to normal. Personally, I think the amount of incoming damage is too high by about 20% on Vet and too low by about 35% on normal.

I think the damage is fine If anything up the NPC damage little but make them squishier because in round one I basicly just ignore the adds because its so damn difficult to burn them down and maintain pressure on the boss. but maybe it'll get easier with better gear. I havent gotn to round 2 boss due to time but the add phases alone are a pain because of the distractions + ttk but still totally doable.

There we a few times I died learning the mechanics on Normal, especially on the totem/spiders part where I continuously tried dropping Meteors and AOEs not realizing I just had to stand in the light. The rest was forgiving enough to stumble my way through it.

I'd like to get my gear prime before I give Vet a try. I have all of my mats/glyphs, less needing 90 Silk for crafting my 5-piece Julianos V16. Going from v15 Purple Kagrenac to V16 Gold Julianos should definitely spike my damage and I'm not worried about losing the regen because I stay pretty sustained weaving on elemental drained targets.

Not sure if I'd like to run the Molag Kena or Nerien'eth set for this. Kena is insane damage going into Overload, but I feel Nerien'eth is more consistent with the shards procing very often and exploding for 7335dmg.

If you are having any difficulty at all with normal Maelstrom, you will not be able to advance past the first few stages of Vet.

Vet Like I said though I've only had the chance to clear first boss and some of the 2nd boss adds rounds. So my experience is limited.
