What level is Craglorn really meant for?

Two friends and I (Vet 1, Vet 2 and Vet 4) decided to sneak into Craglorn the other night just to see what it was like. We had heard it was meant to be played by groups of four Vet 10+, so we thought we'd just pop in and out. But the three of us started to engage the random mobs and even went down a delve, and found we had NO problem handling it. If we come back at Vet 10 are we going to be overpowered for that zone? should we be tackling it now?

Group up and have lots of fun! mobs in Upper Craglorn can be slightly harder to dispose of, but it is just a zone for people to group together and quest! And get that sweet, sweet Nirncrux.

Craglorn is such a sad story in my opinion...

It has some really fun content, and could still be a good adventure zone, but after all the nerfs to how hard it is (it is really easy now) and the rewards you get (both loot and XP are next to nothing) it is something you do one time if you are a completionist and that is it.

I think there are still people farming Nirn there though...

I wish they would raise the level of everything in Craglorn to V16 and let it drop V16 gear and XP, because some of the quests were fun to do when it was first released.
    Playing since beta...

This ^^, do it with your friends now, by the time you get to VR10 plus the content will be easy as a group.

There are some really stunning dungeons and the odd boss that might make you go ''*** that was hard'' but some of my most fun evenings have been spent with one or two friends just ''killing'' stuff in Craglorn.

The xp and rewards may not be the best but who cares if you are having fun!?! :)

By Vr4-6 you should be able to solo the outside mobs, other than the named bosses. Those will require a few more. There are outside group events/quests that will require a full group, as well as group dungeons. Dungeons kind of vary based upon levels, gear, CP, and group make up.

At your level, you can get some good dropped gear sets that you can either wear, or pretty reliably sell. Plus Nirncruxes can be found rarely when farming crafting nodes. The only downside is that ZOS nerfed grinding there, so the exp really blows compared to the difficulty of the mobs. For good exp, you'll want to get a group together to do the various daily quests.

Just remember, as a rule, mobs in Craglorn always come in groups. Sometimes much larger groups than it first appears you're going to get. Outside, always con all the mobs to make sure that you're not accidentally pulling a boss.

It was released before champ points and was not scaled for the increased player power

Agree with this. Some beautiful and fun delves there.
They could have even kept it a grind zone for those that like to do it. Even I enjoyed the 12 man Anomaly, Burial and Upper Boss grinds. Kinda the same feel that the Orsinium WB dailies have now.

As far as the original question goes, Lower Crag was brought in with the VR increase to 12, then Upper Crag with VR14.
So back then it was Cadwell's to VR10, then Crag for the rest and Trials/DSA for PVE endgame.

Most of which has now been made obsolete.
Which brings us back to sad :'(

They could do a minor revamp of Craglorn to make it much more like Orsinium with daily group quests, level scaling, and bring back the exp. By updating the trials, even though they've said they don't want to, they could basically create a free DLC for those who don't subscribe in between Crown Store DLC's. Or make the revamped trials require a Plus subscription.

I was soloing the Craglorn Delves at VR8-9 with my Sorc with only a few giving problems (the delves with multiple bosses at the end). If I can do it then most people can; it was an awful build by anyones standards...

Were you using a pet, or pets? If so, that's not really solo is it?

Craglorn is a failed experiment that we all want to forget about but unfortunately is needed for end-game writs.

It's for me. It's all mine.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I used to use Unstable Canniflear, but found that Inner light was more beneficial to me. Did have a shield-stacking build though, where I had Healing Ward + Hardened Ward or Harness Magicka depending on the fight.

Ya know how Stormhaven or Auridon or other solo zones are pretty casual and easy? Imagine that, but for groups of 4. It is not hardcore content.
