Why is there not a possibility to improve the level of a particular armor/weapon??

    I support this idea.

well, the idea's. I like the idea of upgrading, as well as more customization options. And I'd be willing to pay for both, whether in game or Crowns. Most f2p MMO's out there have customization options that you purchase through the stores, this would fit very smoothly in the current game design.

Why pay, with Crowns, for something that, if it is offered in-game, should be based on in-game gold and in-game materials?

Game mechanics, which gear improvement is, shouldn't been in the Crown store. Ever.

I probably should clarify. Customization can come from the store, And i was referring to that. I lumped them together by accident. I do agree that game improvements shouldn't be in the store. Customization is perfectly OK to be there.

re-crafting is about being able to use specific set bonuses that you like, or that work with your build, that are on a set that is lower level and thus doesn't have the stats to keep up with the VR16 stuff.

There are sets that are not scaled to vr16. some of them are just a few levels behind, but still can't keep up with the vr16 stats due to scaling. if it was just plain gear, then yeah, there's not much reason to upgrade. it's the sets.

EDIT: also if you like the look of an earlier set, say the heavy mid 30's wood elf set, you can craft that set to your liking, upgrade to vr16 and presto, a custom top tier armor set for your toon.

When leveling up you don't need new armor every few levels. I go 10 levels per armor and 5 vet levels. No issue and no problems getting through the content especially since it is so nerfed.

No need for this to be implemented. Should not be.

This should be implemented simply for the reason that many dropped sets could be increased to max level. Level cap raises have killed many great sets.

The gear grind is a big part of any MMO and a big reason this should not be implemented. If it ever was it should be absurdly expensive and challenging to be able in the first place and BoP.

yes but not everyone likes grinding, some of us like to explore new locations and quests and not do the same over and over. so this option would be for us and you can grind if you want ;o)

Sorry to jump in but if you're exploring and questing why would you be concerns with gear progression?
The single player game is pretty easy and with greens you can do everything solo wise other than the new Vet M Arena

Upgrading gear for this is pretty much a waste considering the quest drop and purple drops that are found while questing. Even the sets that are blue or green which can currently be upgrade to Legendary if you craft based on the context of this topic.

all these abilities could be implemented with a lvl 50 crafting skill with passives that allow these things.
for example style recraft passive at lvl 50 or trait or lvling up the piece ect.

I think its fine as is. U find plenty in the field as well as materials. u can enchant anything that isnt enchanted and building ur armor allows u to change ur stats over the course of the game not to mention u get exp. from every piece of armor/weapon u make. so i dont really see any issues this causes nor do i see any advantages to implementing an improvement system

well because I have a set and improved it several times and that costs pretty much gold and I like that set and I want to keep it and not "have to" deconstruct it in few more ranks up and get a new one with a higher level.

RNG stands for Random Number Generation, and is what is happening with the random traits, sets, weights etc. of armor that has been added to the game at an exponential rate

aha, yes, I thought so. So I agree with @MrDerrikk that RNG should not be a part of crafting in ESO.

    Hallo ZOS,

I would like to ask, why is there not a possibility to improve the level of the particular armor that I am using right now? Why do "I have to" create a new armor to match my level (to increase the armor stats) every few new levels? Why can I not just (for cost of some materials of course) improve the level of my armor that I am using now?

Will such an option be added to the game in the future?

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

You CAN improve it.All the way to Legendary. I have armor that is several levels below me,not even VR1,which I am.It works great because I finally got all the ingredients to improve it as far as I can. Armor and weapons dont always have to be at your level for them to work great.

yes I know what you are writting, but still, the higher level of the armor, the more protection and other stats its get, so it would be great if I could increase the level of the particular piece with me leveling

because ZOS wants people to feel like they have to buy Orsinium to get v16 gear. They want you to grind. They want it to be hard to get top level gear.

Why not let us improve only noncraftable sets to Vr16? Like Silk of the Sun Set and rest. In Wrothgar, some Ancient Orc technic or something like that. Plus they dont need to work very hard to scale it other then 5th piece bonus.
    Players happy, devs happy.
P.S. Not any RNG item, daily reward quest
Edit: Vr15-16 mats are sick joke, not only you need 120-140 per item but also you get a CHANCE to get them, from nods and drops, dec item gives you x1. Well done sirs

yes, deconstructing such an item should give at least 50 % of the mats invested!
