Hmm...personally I feel like its a wasted slot, although many may disagree. I tend to favor less initial (from stealth) damage and go for more defense ( mitigation in general) as the damage difference between heavy attack/ poison arrow spam is minimal compared to snipe, I also get more resources with heavy attack. Leaving out snipe also allows me me to use another skill for a different situation. My opinions and build I don't like the skill, have fun! Oh and you can put some points in bow heavy attack damage too, to make it hit THAT much harder. Imagine with that CP passive, and being a dragonknight with the heavy attack damage buff? All yah need for damage!

Id say focused aim mainly because of champ points. Its physical damage and so benefits from the mighty cp tree and so will your other skills.

Well my NB is 41, I inly have 66 CP until the next DLC (tomorrow) for PS4. I did stack what I had under physical damage and will add more for the 12% crit

    Focused Aim.

Lethal Arrow gets reduced by the CPsystem.

Lethal Arrow is great if you spent a load of point in the CP-tree where healing reduction abilities get boosted ( I cant remember name, but I think hemorage or something). You do one from stealth with camo hunter and on a healer and BAM with enough points he can only heal for 10%, unless he has points in the CP-tree to boost his healing abilities.

I run a bownly (you get it? Bow and only = bownly  ) build. I run focused aim, but the reason for that is when someone runs away I get the extra distance when I hit someone first. Sometimes focused aim does little damage it looks. I hit someone for 4k and I go like: WTF????? but sometimes it's like 12k (I don't run a damage build, but have buffed still around 2.8k damage. I wear 3 pieces Oblivion Foe and 5 willows path for regeneration madness and 3 agility jewels

It's a nice opener still from stealth, but as someone mentioned above, you can also charge your heavy attack from stealth and cancel it with poison arrow or the other morph.

So on one bar I have

    - Relentless focus (for extra stamina and damage buff)
    - camouflaged hunter (im a vamp myself and I know it hurts on vamps)
    - focused aim
    - cloak
    - concealed weapon (the magicka morph. for that extra boost of speed in stealth)
U: Flawless dawnbreaker (8% passive damage buff)

    other bar:

    - piecring mark
    - caltrops sometimes switched with draining shot to shoot people of walls
    - poison arrow
    - Resloving Vigor
    - charging manouvres
-u: Batswarm (for the stamina/magicka regen passive as vamp)

I use potions for the 20% damage buff. First I used 2-handed for that, but I don't want to run around 2-handed. Potions also last around 47 seconds so it's good enough. Also you get with right combination extra stamina regeneration and stamina.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Focused aim because it gains from Mighty unless you're doing a serious bow build and you want to focus on poison damage with CPs.

People who mention that this ability is not good because it's about the same damage as a heavy attack are missing the potential. With the long travel time at range, you can fire off a snipe then a medium cancelled assassin's will (if you already have it ready, otherwise poison arrow or silver bolts) for a huge burst of damage that all hits at once. Burst damage is very important in current game IMO. Same goes for stealth attack openers, if you fire a focused aim from max range you can get off a heavy attack and poison arrow at the exact same time. If the timing is good enough you'll see sneak attack bonuses to multiple attacks also.
