So I personally dislike not knowing how the scoring works altogether but for a Solo Arena it's incredibly frustrating trying to figure it all out, based on what I have learned from the past ZOS has always been about time is your biggest factor, deaths don't matter so what it seems with this new addition, deaths do actually count and take off a hefty score(?).

I'd say that Maelstrom is probably going to be the most competitive content in terms of how many people will be trying to get #1 but that is going to be incredibly difficult not knowing what exactly factors in that, what you have to practice, if you have to practice a no death, no sigil run or practice the most fastest run with no deaths etc.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert I know this is asked a lot, but could we please have a posted formula on how the scoring works, just so we can have a fair competition with each other, and knowing what we have to do to get the top scores

Someone will likely have to figure this out independently, but here is to hoping.

I know that not using sigils is almost not worth it because they barely subtract from your score and my no-sigil run didn't include any bonuses that I could decipher. Deaths definitely detract from the run but I think time is the #1 contributor.

I think I completed a 19 death 2hour and 9 minute run with a score of 243,000 and a 15 death run in 2 hours and 19 minutes with 242,000 so deaths I think matter the most.

There may be some large bonuses for 0 deaths, 0 sigils, Less than 1 hour etc, perhaps that' how these guys are getting the 450K+ scores.

I completed in 1 hour 17 minutes and had 488 lives at the end but gotten a 360k score and learned that the people in front of me were 15+ minutes slower. I used about 8 sigils total so I'm starting to personally think deaths count for a lot but you can make up the lost time with a sigil pretty easily if you use it on certain rounds to boost time. But who knows

My fasted run to date is still an hour and a half with 8 deaths and I still only got 360K score. I think I used two sigils because freaking zenimax interface crew thought it would be an awesome decision to make using a sigil the same key as using the ghost explosion. It was probably the same guy that thought making stealing and talking to an NPC share the same key was a good idea.

Sometimes the scoring system is really strange.

Sometimes I do have faster runs, less deaths, less sigils used but less points than another run with longer time, more deaths, more sigils used. makes 0 sense at all.

I still think 1 sigil used is 1k less points. Deaths are not counting at all apart from time (maybe?)

If that's the case then it doesn't add up.

What I am thinking is different classes have a different scoring system based on a lot of what people have been telling me and how many deaths and sigils they used

It doesn't add up cause a 1hour 17minute run for a lot of people adds up to be 400,000 but I got 360k lol

I think it works like this but I could be way off.

Your score is what it says it is going into each round. You can clearly see the cost deducted by using sigils from this number. I think the max base score is 364K?

When you beat the final boss there are various bonuses which are displayed (I see like +15K all the time) and I think other bonuses and penalties that are applied after that. I'll have to go through all my videos and document the times and numbers I see from there but at most the only sigil I use is a defense sigil on the second stage of the final boss.
