I'd still be against it. I really don't want to let ZOS to think of it as ok to implement a gear grind in the game just because they put an 'alternate' method of obtaining it in the crown store. Really don't want to reinforce that grind mentality.I heard getting gear becomes increasingly grindy with each DLC, therefore I guess it is time to introduce some means for the better people to conveniently pave their way to epic gear with dollars. I am not saying there should be gear the crown store. That would be pay to win, which is bad, right? But there could be mats packs or other components from which once could assemble gear by himself. That could be enough to fool P2W alarmists that no gear for cash scheme is underway.

[Pay money-->Get crown store mats---> craft gear with said mats] is still essentially equivalent to [Pay Money-->Get Gear] as far as i'm concerned.

I'm thinking a next logical step will be something like "instant research" tokens that allow you to instantly research one crafting trait. Something that's one increment closer to P2W, but still arguably "not that bad" yet.{Edited for typos}
I think ZOS would be better off enhancing the value of the subscription for revenue, then adding basic items to the Crown Store over time (in addition to the DLC). Subscription incentives will matter more long term.
