Permafrost questions

I was hoping to get some clarification from someone trying out the new Permafrost set.

"Gain Health Recovery while you have a Damage Shield"

How does this work if you have a small damage shield that gets quickly destroyed? Will you miss the health regen tick if the shield is not up? Does it activate for some time after you activate a shield and for how long?

I'm trying to see if a DK could run this with a 4k shield in pvp. The shield rarely last for more than one hit and I'm wondering if I would even see the health regen bonus with this set.

Well, I believe that the buff lasts at least a couple seconds once the shield is triggered, so I'd say at least one tick is granted, but i can't garantee it until we get to see the 5/5 and test it ._.

You probably will miss the tic. Try using defensive stance and seeing if that works.

You probably will miss the tic. Try using defensive stance and seeing if that works.

I use a magicka build but can usually run a stam skill or two. Do reflects count as shields? That would be an awesome skill to use if it works considering it can last 30 seconds, especially against melee builds.

I'm no where near having a full set at this point to test it unfortunately.

Defensive Stance does not give you a shield. It's just ESO developers being lazy and making you have a 'dummy shield' that will be used as a variable for the spell absorb / reflect. The UI simply displays a shield that does not exist. For Years.
