Thinking about buying a ssd for my ps4. Has anyone tried this with eso? Just wondering if there are inprovments with load times.

For ESO there is no improvement as most of the loading is transferal of server information plus the current state of broken loading times (hopefully fixed in the upcoming December PS4 patch). For other games there is drastic improvement for example GTA and Warframe. I highly recommend it especially since SSD prices are plummeting.

I know initially there were longevity issues in applications such as DVR's I believe that has been addressed but something to consider.

The issue is, the SSDs can only be written to so many times before they "wear" out. Now, for most people, this time to wear out is way beyond the life of the machine they are used in. This issue can be almost eliminated on a PC by moving Temp Files, Internet Caches and My Documents to a platter drive.

On a game console, the software tends to be written once and read many times. The only part that gets over written frequently would be the saves. So, I would say that an SSD will last longer in a gaming console than in any other device. A DVR would have to lowest life span for an SSD.

However, an SSD would not necessarily make this game load faster with regards to cells and zones, but it won't hurt. You may notice some improvement in loading times, but not like night and day in this game. However with the patch that the PC just got, we are back to the quick loading times so there may be some tangible benefit to this game, but not as much as other games that only work locally.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
