A morning in Imperial City

Hello dear ESO players!

I tried to find a better place write it down but it seems, here looks the best. I have been playing this game almost a year now and I have just opened my forum account to write this down.

I am a player from Turkey and to grind peacefully in IC, I usually wake up at 5 - 6 a.m. Otherwise, as you all know, you get usually ganked. I have seen people complaining about %80 tv loss issue and saying that is a dlc for expert PvP players. For me, it is also an insult to PvE players. Here is why:

Three days ago, I woke at 5 a.m, did my morning stuf - breakfast, dressing, bagging etc. - then I started grind Eso before I leave for work. I can do this only once in week on thursdays except weekends. For the most, 3 days a week I mean...

in two hours, I grinded 3k telvars, hanging around pact base. It is a nice number for me as I play as a nord tank and it is clearly not for grinding build but I tuned it a bit to do so. When I left that room with the first portal to move the first big room just outside the pact's base, a dear player came out of invisibility potion, Ice comet + entropy + radiant destruction and puff! 2,5k telvars gone.

It happened around 7 a.m after I grinded non-stop for 2 hours. So Zenimax or Bethesda, Isn't it a bit disrespectful what you have created here? I could only tolerate a %30 cap in IC, anything more than that is really an insult to players like us. Even with %30 that guy would take 1000 telvars. Why more greed, really? I am not a pvp player, almost dislike it since I really dont have that quality internet in my town to play, but I also shouldn't be another guy's sheep to be ripped away from all my morning's sweat like this.

And what did the other guy achieve? Logged on, went to arena district, used the sewer entrance, used invisibility potion to move around, ah! here is me - the only guy in the sewers in that hour (For real) - lets kill him! Oh yes, sweeet 2,5k telvars. Lets disappear to store them. Sweet!

I can hear you guys telling some precautions like 'you could have stored each 1k you get', 'should have done this and that' or 'I lost more than you did, that nothing'
but it was a few meters away from Pact base's door. Even if I had a character that ganks good, I would even do it once those hours, it is a game and people should have that privacy and peace they want, at least in that damn morning hours -_-

Whats more, there are some really weird ( would be the least thing I say ) people whose aim is not to let another guys play. I mean, you killed me, got my telvars - it is ok - he or she is still trying to kill for my 1 telvar stone left in my bag :D I also dont think that killing me over and over again would give much alliance points but even if he sees me that I am not engaging him and grinding away from him, he still comes and waits me to have a low health bar and attacks me... I can only feel sorry about him or her...

But, since the latest patch, you have dropped %50 cost on most items in IC and grinding thropies got easier. I am a man that appriciates, so still, thank you Zenimax :)

and solution? Either lock sewer entrances or some close zones to bases to a certain hour so people like can have fun or simply drop the %80 to an acceptable %30.

You gave us a dlc, I bought it with love. Seriously, I really love this game to its tiny bits :) and I have been really filled with rage at that moment, I wanted to say anything that comes to my mind If I had my forum account earlier. F* word would be the most innocent one :) Well, That behaviour wouldn't solve any problems. I am glad that I wrote this down with a calm state of mind.

Have a nice day, ESO players! :) \o/

This is nothing new. It's a common sense that places will be less populated during specific times. I've been taking an advantage of this since IC's release. Usually farming TVS between 4am - 7am was the best for me.

Well, now that you guys posted those hours,I can imagine there will be more people waiting for your stones.
Having said that,I understand your ire.I used to want to go into IC,but just cannot seem to go further than that one entry room, now that I found you could go in that way.I certainly cant go into where the White Tower is. Dan gate is full of baddies!
I bee not that good of a player to try and solo it through to the door.I did try it and failed, shot down in flames immediately. As to gankers,I havent even seen anyone but myself in that area at all.

The amount taken when killed is rather ridiculous and I can sympathize that your entire morning of effort was ruined by one player who got in lucky shots by finding you.

For me I no longer do IC, I find it redundant and TV stones quite costly to grind for. Even then when doing dailies in the zone I would rather eat a repair bill then slog through the sewers to get back to base.

That is how spirit breaking IC is.

    Thank god for Wrothgar.

Man screw gankers, if you're there to farm you have everything to lose but when you manage to kill one of those *** nightblades you get nothing. So unfair.

    Welcome to the club, Kut.
ZOS knowingly gave us a game that rewards the worst kind of players.

PvP gankers enjoy the IC because they can only win by ganking.
PvE players hate the IC because they can only lose from ganking.

Moreover, PvP does not cost you repairs, PvE does.
So after being ganked, you also have to pay for PvE repairs while PvP gankers pay nothing.

The balance in this game always has been a mess.
There is no balance between classes 1v1 (NB/Sorc>DK/Templar),
and there is no balance anymore between PvP and PvE.

Imperial City is a place where PVP happen, you should expect it, accept it, or go away. There is not much content for PVP players, so leave that Imperial City for their amusement.
If you can't stand to take the risk of being killed, just go in Orsinium, and enjoy the life over there! the gear you can obtain with telVar stone is mostly PVP gear, and you can get materials by farming Orsinium dailies, delves Public Dungeons or the usual Undaunted Silver and Gold Pledges. You also can directly farm materials in Orsinium.

it's not like Zenimax have lied to their players. We all knew Imperial City was going to be a zone with PVP enabled.

Now, you are not out of solutions. Find a server where your faction is dominating. Play in group. etc....

I agree with most of what you said, but if you want VR16 runes you need to go to IC (or buy them) . They don't drop in Orsinium.

It is nice to see who can understand and feel like me, thanks guys o/

so, did I say antyhing like 'stop PvP in IC' or 'Nerf this, Nerf that' ? I said, those ganking guys earning to much without giving anything. I am quite good with mixture PvP and PvE in IC but that %80 is the problem what makes me demotivated.

Also, having played some Mmorpg games so far, Eso has quite a nice content of PvP. Come on, can you really ignore cyrodill map? I even did a madness to play there for Ap to buy Akaviri styles and attacked a farm all alone. Died, naturally :D and all in the middle of it, imperial city makes it all hot and spicy :)

You can really try to understand my point rather than trying to supress me, I like arguing to find a common solution where all players can benefit and have fun in this game.

Saying that you were near your base is a terrible argument. That area is the most dangerous one of all.

I used to XP pot grind near my base. And I would drop off TVs every 500 stones or so. It's not really that time consuming.

You want a common solution? Don't run around with enough TV stones that losing them makes you this unhappy. I have been ganked for 3k. It hurt. But I knew I was taking a chance with those stones, and I accepted the loss.

Finally I've found someone with the same opinion I have.

When I said a while ago that ZOS seems to not respect PvE solo players by constanly creating content for PvP'ers and/or for small groups of players, I had as answer that they launched a huge patch/content/whatever for PvE (something like, I won't bother finding the exact answer).

In fact, such content makes the "life" of solo players very difficult, because PvE enemies grow in strength progressively, as usual, but the strength needed to beat them alone comes from PvP content and/or after hours of boring grinding.

This along with a broken economy....

It's supposed to be PvP area, not an easy farming place, remember? But I still have a solution for you - do IC dailies, you get 1,2k stones with no risk. And it will be more likely 1,5-2k in most cases.

That's why I bank once I reach 1k. Might take longer to farm up, but better safe than sorry.

Ganking is good way to get stones, the question is why dont you do the same? IC was meant to be PVP-DLC foremost anyway. You get ganked, they expect you to go there and gank someone and get your stones back. The best way is to get a mate, go to enemy sewers and blitz through all players and monsters, when you are at the center, you can have 1+ k stones easily.
