So in theory, you dont have to take this one if you dont want to jump.
Yeah, according to the lorebook addon in the map, there wasn't
With the exception of ones found in Guild quests and in group dungeons, there are multiple copies of each lorebook in the game.

Also, if this isn't Mario, I really need to stop jumping on top of every mushroom I see.

Nah, I looked all around that entire platform. The only entrance seemed to be jumping on those conveniently placed walls

Haha, you're on. Let me see if I can find that one again. If you're an argonian, it's cheating btw. There's a chance they might make it back to shore on time. Wow, I guess they aren't useless after all.

I think I remember that. (But like you, I don't remember where...) You realize if you jump while swimming, you can make it to shore with minimal "slaughterization...."

There's a skyshard in Cyrodiil that's in a setup like that - there are a bunch of werewolves on the docks and in the surrounding area. You can swim from the boats to a small patch of shore at the bottom of a short cliff before getting slaughtered, though, and from that patch of shore with some careful jumping you can actually get up the cliff and back to safety.

I was trying to find M'aiq the Liar in Greenwood for ages without joy. I let the crocs kill me so that I could respawn near the wayshrine nearest to him. There was no way I could get up that rock face, and going around it just took me further and further away. Bah!

I agree that jumping in this game can be really frustrating.

I actually like jumping in other games, including Guild Wars 2's dreaded jumping puzzles, but in this game I find it really frustrating because the physics are very weird. When you're in the air you move as if there's low gravity or something, it's slightly too slow and your momentum and direction doesn't seem entirely related to what it was before you jumped.

But the most frustrating thing is the number of times I've landed on what should be a stable surface, including some I know for a fact I can stand still or walk/run normally on because it's accessible just by walking and then for no apparent reason I slide off as if it's made of ice. It really makes me think someone forgot to put some of the physics in, or used incorrect values.

I suppose the good side, for those who don't like jumping, is they could never put in anything more difficult than the examples above because the accuracy simply isn't there and it'd be unplayable.

Seriously. Took me 5 minutes to get up there. After 2 minutes I had to go outside and walk around to cool off, then come back and try again. You end up getting near it, then he falls sideways like some kind of drunk person.

Please, in future, put stairs there for the jumping impaired. We're people too.

As near as I can tell, all of the lore books (the ones that will boost your Mage Guild) are available in multiple locations near one another - at least the ones in the non-Cyrodiil parts of the world. I can't remember right now if the Cyrodiil ones are the same. But the Lore Books add-on will show you all of the possible locations to obtain a particular book - if one proves troublesome, try a different location!

I agree, though, that I'd prefer there not be Mario-like jumping in the game - I love that things are hidden and tucked away, but they should be easily gotten to once you've spotted/found them.

Yep, they are. If I look at my map while in Glenumbra, Stormhaven and such, there's usually a big clump of them around the same area. So if you didn't want to go inside a dungeon to get one, there was generally the same copy outside somewhere else.
For some reason, this doesn't seem to be the case in Cyrodiil from what I can tell, at least not with every book from what I've seen.

I have a feeling a wasted too much time trying to jump back on the boat in a panic xD

It was laid out in a way where you had to quickly swim+jump to shore, then there was a cliff you couldn't climb, so you had to swim+jump to the next tiny island.
Argonians would have really loved this one.

Yeah, I remember one in Cyrodil that was tucked into a tower where you had to jump over to it - and the jump was NOT the easiest to make, and as I recall, there wasn't another copy of the book anywhere around.

Not sure why they changed their MO for Cyrodiil.

    I have no problem jumping

My biggest beef so far, is playing in ad (level 40) is when i have somewhere to go and a giante mountain or cliff blocks me from getting up there...and my destination is literally right there... and i have to run around a vast area just to find the enterance before i can run up the hill and find the quest area...

    Its bitter sweet for me

Most of the time it isnt a problem and i think the geography is really cool

Other times its a pain in the ass though when im in a rush

Yeah, that one you can get to a small piece of shore surrounded by cliffs (I seem to remember that there's a werewolf on that little piece of shore too). You can actually get up the cliffs with some careful, strategic jumping. If you know where to jump, it's pretty easy to get back from there. Of course when you screw up jumping down to the boat in the first place and end up in the water before grabbing the skyshard, it's super annoying... Hop-swim to shore as fast as possible to avoid getting slaughtered, kill the werewolf, find the right place to jump up the cliff, get back to the docks where the werewolves have respawned, kill them again, jump down to the boat again to actually grab the skyshard this time, then hop-swim to shore again as fast as possible to avoid getting slaughtered, kill the werewolf again, and then find the right place to jump up the cliff again...
