How can I disable this function in the game? Is there a file setting that will remove it from my setup?

Its screwing with my mouse!

In what way is it screwing with your mouse? When Gamepad Support is turned off, the game should function the same as it always has done.

    Do you mean:

"Esc" -> "Settings" -> "Gameplay" -> "Gamepad Mode (Beta)"

    ?
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

@nine9six thanks for that, a good suggestion, but no, its off. I mean to be able to go into a .cfg or .txt file or something in order to turn off gamepad support all together! It made my mouse fail

    @sazodeha I'm testing something now. I found:

    SET GamepadPreferredEnabled "0"
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

That worked for me. I enabled and disabled Gamepad Support by editing that alone.

    Edit that in the UserSettings.txt

    If there's a 1, make it a 0. If it'a already a 0...then IDK lol.

And FWIW...the location (on Windows 7 and up) is:

    C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live

Can you elaborate on how it made your mouse fail? I'm seeing some strange mouse behavior since last week. For example, block will go up but won't hold. Same with sprint, which I had bound to a mouse button. I assumed my mouse was starting to fail (I blamed all theashing I've had to do because ***** break free doesn't work half the time) and have been shopping for a new one.

I hadn't considered that it might be related to the new gamepad support, but the timing is right.

Yes, but I need the proper/specific line to make a 0, that I do not know. Does anyone know of a line that can be edited to disable gamepad support?

@reverb I have an MX mouse, with 4 extra, mappable buttons. Before the patch/gamepad support it worked fine, after which those buttons are not even seen. In other words if I went into settings-controls to map, I could select a feature, like weapon swap, click the appropriate button to map and done. NOW, I click the button and nothing.

Ah, I used to use an MX mouse and kb. Do you have Set Point running? Try disabling it, or at least temporarily killing the process. Always helped me when it bugged out on a game after an API update.

Are you sure it's the gamepad support that's broken it? I use an MX518 and about a week ago updated my set point(hadn't done them in a while) and those exact same problems were happening to me, I reverted to the one I downloaded when I first got the mouse ( always keep a backup of install programs like that) and it worked fine again. I haven't any issues in ESO since not even after gamepad support was added.
