Theory Crafter Help - TBS vs Julianos

Some mathematical help would be appreciated. From V10 - 14 I was running Twice Born Star on my magicka templar and it worked well, but now I'm really interested in knowing which set will give me higher damage/healing stats at V16 (really don't want to craft it all and find out its not as good as the alternative). If I went TBS I would most likely run the Mage and Apprentice stones and probably the Mage on Julianos.

Any tips or insightful contributions???

Over at Tamriel Foundry there is a Sorcerer Arithmagic thread that does all the work for us. The results were that Julianos performs insignificantly better (~1%). The main difference is that TBS has an additional Health and Stamina bonus, while Julianos has spell damage (both have max Magicka). If you include that damage shields cannot be critted then TBS is better for PvE and Julainos has a slight edge in PvP (note that this is my conclusion of the data).

I'd encourage you to head over there and read the entire thread though as it contains a ton of information. Similarly, there is an Aedric Warrior thread that covers only magicka Templars and uses much of the same information. Note that Burning Light may skew the Templar's damage for PvE as well so TBS may be the superior set for everything except damage shields. Enjoy.

EDIT: It is also worth noting that if you frequently switch sets then you would have to reacquire the second mundus stone each team you reequip TBS. I don't know if this is a deal breaker for you but considering how long loading screens are currently this may be a ~10 minute process.

EDIT_2: There are also reports that any crit chance over 50% is currently glitched. I do not know the sepcifics of this issue but I do know that ZOS has not commented on it, nor is it listed as a current issue. In this case Julianos would perform better as well. Hopefully someone else can provide more information on this issue.

Im running TBS on my v16 magicka Templar and its really high dps. I saw a lot of theory crafting about these 2 sets some said TBS was better and some said Julianos was better but since TBS has health and stamina on it I prefered that one.

Yeah, I've been running TBS since I hit V10. Are you running light or heavy? I found that from 10 - 14 I appreciated the slight amount of extra health I got out of 5 heavy compared to 5 light vs the cost reduction and increased penetration and crit. Not sure if thats going to be best route now that I'm 16 and have extra stats to share...

Im running 5 light 1 heavy and 1 medium for the undaunted passives. I finished vet malestorm with it twice and I feel like it would be a lot harder with lower health and stamina. Also TBS is more flexible for pvp you can just swap to spelldamage and regen or whatever you need since you cant crit on shields.
