Do the armors change their appearance with their level or with the improvement?

Hallo guys, I have two questions:

1. when I have an armor VR1, will it look differently If it will be from the same armor motif, but crafted as VR 16 armor?

2. does the armor appearance change when improving the armor (green, blue, purple, gold)?

    IIRC styles change at level 16, 24, 32(?) and 44. All vet levels look the same tho.

    34 is when you switch to Rank 4 if I recall correctly, and 46 for Rank 5 plus 26 for Rank 3.

    Some of the rare ones like Ancient Elf or Deadric are practically the same for all levels (although the weapons change a little)

    Improving the quality merely slightly changes the base colour scheme

    IIRC = If i recall, and they were talking about crafting levels

    As he says, the raw materials go by rank and there are 10 in all so it is easier to refer to them as such, even if it is a crafting term.
