Same here.. I have opened around that since DLC drop and no set pieces have been dropped. Not even from the Master chests.

If you have the chest passive from the champion tree you are probably really unlucky. I found I averaged a drop every 10 chests or so.
Edit: I have had long dry streaks however when I don't get a drop for 50 chests or more and also 3 items in a row as well.

I really don't get why so many wants "the best way to get X item"?

Don't get me wrong! Everyone do whatever they like! I'm all for it!

I am just confused since I keep away from any kind of grinding or easy way to get anything.
Of course I like rare stuff, but I get happy as a kitten at christmas every time I get something rare! Like a skyshard I havn't been able to find in a few months!

I love chests! When I see one, I go like any treasure hunter and dive for it. It has been very long since people did that in ESO. With Orsinium, its cool!

But,
If all I had to do was follow someone else, or go via a map, then I wouldn't do it. It would rob me of the awesome feeling of finding a TREASURE!

I have most of those sets already. Cyro rewards of the worthy, some from chests, but most drops in Dungeons. I don't know where they drop, just that I have lots of em and had no idea that item even existed until I saw it in my bags! ^^

Just so no one feels offended! I just like to understand this obsession with in this case, open 500 chests in one day! Sure, you get lots! But then you hate chests forever and are worn out for a while? Doesn't these very good sets then loose it's value and becomes more "Bleeeh, had to farm for 3 DAYS before I got all my set!"?

I get it, some players MUST HAZ NEOW!

But when rare, very rare or outright unique stuff gets easy to get, don't they loose their value a bit?

I still wear my master bow I got in dec 2014, and started using in Feb 2015, when someone pointed out to me that Master Bow is better then the Pact bow :-p.

Maybe I am missing where the fun is? I get that it takes longer if you don't farm/grind, and everyone might not get what they want anyway! But why do boring stuff instead of what you want to do, have fun and get the same rewards?

Is the speed when you get something so important that some players almost "work" for it in game?

Feel free to explain to this Orc, why so many players farm, when they don't like it or grind when they complain its boring and not enough exp?

Whats the rush? Items always come to you in time ^^

I have lots of different things from "normal" to crafted to master weapons. I know where all of them came from, why I earned it and some items I wear with pride and don't upgrade to something "less", just cause its better stats :-p

I wish they would respawn in random places. This makes it very easy for botters to AFK grind chests.

Also, while happily farming chests, don't be -that guy- who takes everything except an old soul gem, leaving the chest unable to respawn

When you record videos, the cursor isn't captured. At one point you said "see where I'm pointing with my mouse".
Also, just a quick screen snip, then a little mark where each chest is (approximately) would be a big help. I often get turned around and really rely on my map to keep my course true.

Hi, thanks for the guide, even though I am a bit late...
I am quite regularly finding set pieces but...no purple vr16 jewelry! Does it not appear in these chests at all or should I just try harder?

Best way is to do this....and you will have the sets coming out of your ears but in my opinion those bound sets suck anyway.

1) Use harvest map addon so you know all the chests spawn locations soon as you open map.
2) Farm the chests but only while doing 3 and 4/5
3) Share daily wrothgar boss quests and do all 6 per day, that's 12 chances per day of getting the sets, 6 from boss's and 6 from container rewards.
4) Do the delves daily for another container per day.
5) Repeat and rinse per character
6) Put items in bank for your alt characters

You will have sets coming out of your ears after a few weeks, 13 chances per day per character, not to mention a ton of exp for champion points and bit of gold. I saved my containers until I had like 50 and just opened them all up in one go.

Personally though I do them boss dailies for the exp, the bound sets are kinda crappy compared to other sets in the game. I think people most do it for exp, unique styles.

@Troneon thanks for your answer...I knew that these sets drop from daily rewards, that's how I got my only purple vr16 item, but I didn't know that the bosses themselves could drop them.

My question was a bit more specific though: can I get purple vr16 jewelry by only doing item 2 from your list?

About your warning...well, I want to try this briarheart set, and see by myself that agility is actually better...then I'll come back here so you can say "I told you!"

Sample size of 3, but I've only ever received one or two V15 set pieces from chests, and I've opened hundreds. My hubbie hasn't ever had any set pieces drop in chests, and a guildie who was also farming chests was testing this and only got V15. Sets dropped in chests seem to be rare, and if V16 drops at all it has a really low drop rate.

Rewards from WB dailies seem to have a decent drop rate. I guess I average one or maybe two V16 pieces a day if I do all 6 WBs.

I've killed at least 50 bosses and never got a single set piece. Are you sure they drop them too?

Yes but it is very rare, I have killed loads and got maybe half a dozen set pieces. You have way more chance with containers than chests or boss's.

Thank you SO MUCH OP! I will be using this map regularly. I had a sneaking suspicion that the chests were only in the southern (non snowy) part of the map

Yeh they do, but rarely as a drop.
I get a couple purple V16 a day from the boxes tho.
