This is my Templar, Elara Northwind, unbuffed Some of her stats are a bit rubbish (like her max magicka and her pretty atrocious spell crit ) She is wearing really weird clothes at the moment though... I don't want to change them yet, until I have everything I need for her new sets. She is quite happy to battle on until then

My spells are really cheap since I have 100 CP in reduced costs which is 16% then there are 4% reduced cost from Templar passive 3% reduced cost as Breton and 15% from light armor.
I also always use channeled focus and as a healer I have syphon spirit which is 1.5% max magcika every attack I also take droped pots on cooldown and if I really need magicka I put a heavy resto attack in my rotation here or there when I feel like my magicka is running low and I have the time.
Another good advise is to always use synergies like those from talons, nova, lightning flood, inner fire,... they all do good damage and return 2% max ressources.
In vMA I used reg drinks for magicka and stamina combined with health on my willpower jewelry just like I do in pvp.

I will post my build (VR9) when I get home, in the meantime I was wondering;...

I have a weird solo build that is somewhat aimed at a mix of tankish healing, it lets me honestly solo most of the content, I'll occasionnaly need help against healer bosses (cz I can't damage them fast enough) and some anchors.

I've been rocking the whitestrake armor set (for that aweeeeesome dmg shield) since lvl 40ish? but it recently got cut in half so when I leveled to VR9 I chose to try out the song of lamae set (damages and gives back health instead). I suddenly feel a LOT squishier. Thing is when the whitestrake set got debuffed, it only gave a dmg protection around 9k (compared to like 16k) and the song of lamae still automatically gives back nearly 4k health. I'm having trouble seeing how that 5k difference really affects me that much.

Also with half my points in health, I'm only at 16kish hp. That seems rather low to me when compared to a VR16 with an extra 10 points put in health that has nearly 35k hp

So what armor SHOULD I get? I use Impenetrable and Rally a lot (So the moment i have 5 pieces of 9 traits , I'm getting that master armor set from IC), and as a templar , obviously a mix match of heals and stuff depending on the situation.

Its twiceborn star with shadow and thief mundus stones, 2/3 torugs pact, 1 Kena and 3 arcane willpower with spelldamage enchants. All armor is divines v16 gold and weapons are nirn gold v16 too
