    I am 30 on xb1 na.

No one really bothers to ask the age of players that I know of, but I can tell you that every group I have ever run with has had no one under 20 years old for sure, and if they are they have kept quiet. It seems to me like the "kiddies" are definitely shunned in the game. They are refered too as "squeakers" and most just mute them. Ive probably had to mute 3 players total since console launch although im sure theres some squeakers flying under the radar. Not saying that there arent ignorant older players too but thats just people in general. :)

In my house, the "average" age of the console gamers is 26. My 12-year-old grandson and my 40-year-old son-in-law both have one, and both are avid gamers.

So much for stereotypes. Now, if you're talking about average MENTAL age, that would be 12...

The number went up. When I was in high school, about 8 years ago, the average "gamer" was 28 years old. Polls and statistics will never be 100% correct in their findings, but I think 30 sounds like a good average. Yes there are plenty of gamers younger than that, but there are also plenty which are older. I'm actually 26 so I'm getting close to that average. As far as ESO goes, I have met like one kid who was 14. Everyone else I have grouped with was usually 18+ and many were 25+. So I can believe it.

This figure of 30 years old is total rubbish.

Children under 16 cannot be interviewed for polls....

You telling me that more adults play games than.... children?

The true statement should be, the average age of people willing and legally able to respond to a questionnaire is 30.

Maths is beautiful, you can use it to prove any argument you want

Not to mention that the "summary" that lists the average is misleading. When you look at the numbers, the amount of people that play that are 26+ is only 5% more then those under 18. When you realize that the 18 number is really ages 16-18, the poll is missing out on allot of real data.

as they say, Statistics are just that...Statistics. Not that its a life changing thing, and it's certainly interesting to see the trend get "older" as they say. Makes me think that it's more of the saturation of gaming in cultures then anything else.

and I have often found that the internet jerkwad theory is far more revealing as to a persons nature on the interwebz then their real age. Real age cannot trump the anonymity of the internet and what it reveals about character...

I find that the badge of immaturity on the internet is far too often well earned, regardless of real aging time on this planet.
