Not yet. We're looking at approximately 2.5 more hours for NA maintenance.

No doubt something went wrong. Again. Those incremental patches usually don't take longer than 3 hours.

maybe someone should have been designated a night shift from the community managment team you know in case of something unforseen they could be informed by the guys working on the server and keep us informed. its not much and with modern communications could be done while chilling at home they would just need to be on call so to speak to fire of a post.

Well, they do need to upload the patch across the pond. And probably do some checking on it to see if it got corrupted during the transfer. And check that it got properly pushed to all the servers. This takes some time. It's not as easy as upgrading graphics drivers. Not implying that any of you actually thinks that it is, though.

Maybe someone should've mentioned there are more efficient ways of getting an update across the pond than by boat ?

They had this before.... endless maintenance/patching and then they had to rollback everything because the server refused the new version for good.

Well, let's hope the EU server is again smarter than NA and she rejects those gutting DoT tick changes. At least for a day... or even a week.

Considering these don't usually take this long and we've had no update at all, you're not whining at all

Does anyone know where the tech crew doing the actual work of patching is located, in what timezone? Do they do it remotely from the US? (Or perhaps India?) If they indeed are located in the US, the timing of it all is pretty damned awkward for everyone involved. Us slacker-daytime-EU-gamers loose game time and the poor sods updating our server gets to pull an all-nighter, in a (vain?) effort to keep us happy.

If it goes on for longer than 12-24 hours then subscribers should get reimbursed a days worth of ESO plus and everyone should get some free crowns.

not a clue the time while annoying is not the issue I posted about as things happen and delays are inevitable. Its purely a request to be kept informed more of a courtesy thing as atm all the European players don't know if its back up in 10 mins or 10 hours.

In the meantime, my Fallout 4 download should be finished in 3 hours or so. Whichever game is ready earlier gets played today... pity though, I was looking forward to doing some Orsinium quests.

Absolutely. I work in IT, I understand delays happen, but we at least inform the customer, which is how we maintain steady business and good rapport with the customer. Otherwise you've got chaos.

yeah I'm sorely tempted to do that but dont want massive lag if the servers come up and I'm in the middle of my fallout download or to have to cancel the download halfway through to do my dailies lag free.

Yeah, you think they would be some kind of update, even the vague 'we are hoping to have things up and running soon' kind is better than silence, as silence makes the rumor mill run full speed.

That's a pretty standard behaviour. But, for some reason I don't know, video game business doesn't treat customers like customers.
