Why is everything dropping in Well Fitted?

I'm sure anyone who's been playing since IC has experienced how the majority of gear drops are all in Well Fitted now? Well I can pretty much guarantee you this is why:

Remember back when ZOS announced they were removing undesirable traits from the loot tables and everyone rejoiced? So how do you think they actually coded that change? Delete the undesirable traits from the loot table and adjust the drop % on the remaining traits accordingly? Hahahaha, no. Given the preponderance of Well Fitted, I'm led to the inevitable conclusion that they made this loot table change in the absolute most lazy ass way possible while still technically maintaining their 'promise' to players.

That's right, the coders most likely just did a "find all" for the traits being removed, "replace all" with Well Fitted, patted themselves on the back and called it a day. What this would mean is Well Fittd would come up all the times the RNG would have given you one of the removed traits, and the actual good traits would still drop at the same low rate. In essence exactly what we have now.

Technically ZOS kept their word and removed those traits from the loot table, but they broke the spirit of their promise with a change that did not achieve what players were actually clamoring for - an increase in the drop rate of actually good traits.

Well fitted needs a buff, as well as Sturdy. Give well fitted 2% cheaper dodgeroll aswell, and sturdy 2% cheaper cc break. That would make them a very valid choice.

The increased crappy trait drop percentage means that you would have to play the game more to get the better trait you need. Bascially, it makes ZOS more money.

Exactly, it pisses me off because they proffer the change to make it sound like they're helping players get better drops, but in actual fact the change does absolutely nothing at all since they just replaced trash traits with one slightly less trash trait. And now that they've made that change, they'll most likely never make another change to the loot table traits since they'll just point and say "look we already made a change for that".

What are you going to do? Stop playing? As if there's even games out there you can go and play instead! emote.pngemote.pngemote.png

Traits have been this way since before game release, probably never going to be fixed now that we're B2P. It's very sad as they could simply allow crafters to change traits for 8 golden temper and a trait stone and maybe some other stuff but nope. Korean MMO grinding syndrome, instead of crafting points like Vigor / Energy / labour points we instead have RNG upon RNG with no ability for crafters to change traits, it likely "has" to be this way due to the marketing team being terrified that if we get the gear we want within 6 months we'll suddenly abandon ship when the writing for this game is cool and the lore is great. Marketing makes these atrocious poor quality of life changes as if they don't believe in the foundation and potential this game has.

What I don't understand is why they seem so damn obsessed with the god awful grind fest for gear. Sure, they want us to stick with content, but at a certain point the grind becomes counted intuitive to achieve this. More and more people are getting fed up with it. It's beyond "oh I'm just willing to work for my gear. " when you can spend months doing pledges and only get 2 mephala shoulders and 3 lord wardens as your drop, something is wrong. It's not keeping people interested, it's making more and more say fu$@ it. We get useless crap over and over. They could replace the traits with something people would actually want to increase diversity.

I agree, ZOS is currently walking a fine line between keeping players addicted from the RNG system, and rage quitting.

Behavior is a function of the number of its consequences. High number of s**t gear translates to high number of people quitting. Also no consequences (no drops) lead to the extinction of a behavior (quit game).

So if you are guaranteed to have a drop it's ok to have random traits. If the drop is rare the traits have to be good. It's that easy.

    Take notes ZOS.

Been grinding normal maelstrom arena. I have gotten dozens of set pieces, the ones who arent well-fitted I can count on 1 hand. Remove everything except infused, reinforced and divines from high level sets please! The RNG is bad enough as it is.

    Well-fitted is underrated imo.

But I'd rather see them improve the undesireable traits than simply remove them. Does anybody remember when they said on ESO live they were going to add traits that boost ultimate generation? Yeah. Been a few months.

    Armor
Sturdy: Nobody in their right mind will make endgame gear worth thousands of gold so to save a couple of coins now and then. As suggested above, how about reduced cost for CC break?
Impenetrable: The whole concept is not really that interesting. How about increase block amount/reduce block cost? That would fit the theme and is much more useful.
Well-fitted: As suggested, dodge roll cost reduction seems fair.
Training: This is actually not a bad trait to have for lower levels. Could be more appealing for higher levels with small overall exp gain boost.
Exploration: There is no way in Oblivion this can be made viable. Just replace it with the promised ultimate generation boost.

    Weapon
Powered: Sucks because weapon enchantments as a whole suck. The cooldown reduction could be rolled into Infused imo, and Powered change to a flat increase to weapon/spell damage like Reinforced works for armor.
Charged: Would suck even if weapon enchantments were better. Replace this one with ultimate generation, maybe.
Infused: As said above, add cooldown reduction.
Weighted: As ZOS removed all other attackspeed bonuses from the game, I'm not sure why this stayed. I'd love to see aspd return, but for now, this might fit the current meta better with an increase to Light/Heavy attack damage.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

I've noticed and commented on this with the people I usually run vWGT and vICP with. The vast majority of gear drops I get is well-fitted, far above any other trait. Most useless trait after training, to be honest...

Also, I haven't seen any perceptible increase in drop rates in those dungeons, contrary to the latest patch notes. Still don't have a single new set with decent traits after running the dungeons more times than I can count.

@Teargrants you are lucky, 10 of my last pvp item set pieces all have sturdy, I would love to get well-fitted on something, instead of sturdy on every armor piece and powered on my weapons.

They just need to buff some of the crappy traits and completely replace a few.
