If you are in a "real" Guild (many are not) do you have enough pride in that Guild to actually match the colours of your armour to the colours of your Tabard?

✭✭✭✭✭Well, in the guild that I GM that's made up of just me and my real life friends, we actually got together to design the Tabard and decide on the insignia, overall design, and colours (there was beer involved, but I don't think the end result reflects that). It's not a coincidence that the colours we went with happen to go very well with the colours I prefer for my armour on the couple of characters who I usually use when playing with those guild-mates.
For the guild I'm in that I consider my main guild (due to it being bigger and more active than the guild I GM, and due to the fact that I end up doing a lot more stuff with guildies in that guild) I don't tailor my colours to the guild tabard, but the guild tabard goes decently well with most colour schemes I find.

✭I probably will with my latest character, as I didn't used to with my Sorc because Bound Armor...but my DK looks a whole lot nicer.
The tabard I'd be wearing is black & white anyway, which just so happens to be how I style my armor.I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

Zlater✭✭✭Our guild tabard has been designed to fit most player preferences.
Most players usually fit black or white into their armor somewhere, so knowing that we used those 2 colours as our primary choices. Then we added red in to spice things up a little and separate our guild. The red is added in such a way that it isn't overbearing and blends very well into the black and white.
Many guild leaders unfortunately choose colours that suit them best. But very often don't work well with the rest of the member base.
