Wrothgar Writ Quests for Non Vets?

MrKen
MrKen
It was mentioned on PTS that 'Writs are available in Orsinium for anyone who has reached the peak of crafting skill' I have non vet alts with maxxed crafting and am still being limited to Coldharbour turn ins.

Can we get some confirmation as to whether this is working as intended and non vets will not be able to do Wrothgar writs?

Well seeing as your char gets boosted to V16 when you enter i would assume you should be able to do them.
That is provided you are subbed or have bought from crown store.

Sounds like a bug (or bad wording of the actual availability). Since you need to be VR1 for the writs one tier lower than Wrothgar, it may not be able to "skip" that tier to give you the Wrothgar ones.

Any update on this? Will my low level writ completing alts have Wrothgar writs available to them?

    (PS4, that's why I don't know yet)

I believe that you need to be a VR to go beyond Coldharbor. For instance, your next senior writ turn in would be Craglorn for maxed out crafting. Maxed out being nine not ten until the patch affects all platforms. But you need to be VR 1 or better to enter that zone.

Once the crafting skill is equal to 10/10 (or whatever the max is per your crafting skill), then Orsinium would be the place for turning in writs, yes?

Until I get the patch (today) and the Orsinium DLC, I don't know for a fact, but what I am saying follows tradition. The higher your crafting skill, the higher the level of playing area you turn in your daily writs.

Since currently Orsinium is now a VR 15/16 area, it follows that a maxed out crafting skill (10/10 or its equivalent) would take you there but you would have to be a VR (not a made up one) to hand in those writs.

It's nice that all players can access Orsinium when DLC is acquired, but players with a level less than 50 are still that level even if the game levels them up for the purposes of battling foes.

It wouldn't be fair if non vets got vet quality rewards just because they acquired the Orsinium DLC. That said, any player who has dedicated themselves to a maxed out crafting skill (not an easy feat imo), shouldn't be punished by their level to exclude them from the appropriate venue.

But the solution to this might be complicated by VR players that have at least one maxed out crafting skill but doesn't have access to Orsinium.

Anyway, I'll try this out for myself hopefully later today when the latest patch is completed for us XB1 users. :)

I'm a Vet player but I can confirm that there currently IS an issue with some writs. I sent some bug reports (after the Orsinium update and again after another patch), and I already had some emails back and forth with the Customer Support which now forwarded it to the devs.

The Provisioning writ doesn't work as intended anymore: before the Orsinium update, my characters were doing ALL writs in Belkarth, and after the Orsinium update, I did a skill respec and put back 9/10 in the equipment crafting skills which works fine again using Void mats only, also Enchanting and Alchemy still work in Belkarth. But Recipe Improvement 5/6 uses VR1 recipes which sends you to Coldharbour, and Improvement 6/6 uses VR15 recipes and sends you to Orsinium. The VR5 recipes which were standard in Belkarth don't exist anymore in writs, ONLY when you don't own the DLC (I know this because I only bought the DLC 2 days after release).

Really weird bug, or not properly allocated, but they'll look into it now.
