Melee attacks, what counts as one?

For Imperials and Redguards, their last passive says it triggers on melee attacks but what counts as a melee attack? I assume basick light and heavy attacks does and i assume weapon skills does? But what about melee ranged abilities such as Templars puncturing strikes or Nightblades Veiled Strike?

Basically if it scales off stamina and does damage it is a "melee attack" for most situations. For example bow skills and light attacks still trigger those passives and the stamina morph of templar jabs does as well. However the magicka jabs do not trigger these passives, even though the have the smae range as their stamina counterparts.

Yes it does.

Everything that costs stamina and has less then 8m range will proc it.

Thanks alot for the info. now to decide if i'd be better of as a Redguard or as a Imperial ^^

concealed weapoms is melee.

everything under or 8m regardless of stamina or mag is melee

it is a bit more complicated....

Teleport Strike has 22 meter distance and counts as melee !
The logic is probably that "you flash through shadows" and "attack" from within the "normal" melee distance.

I think that the used logic is correct. But this example only shows that there is "besides the obvious, the not so obvious"!
I think therefore also that ZOS should expand the tooltip for those cases where the properties of an ability are not so obvious.
In the case of "melee", the shortest way to expand the tooltip is adding 8 positions: 2 brackets and 6 letters (melee).
