When I bought ESO there was a lot of negative feedback compared to other MMOs, yet I still bought it anyway. People don't always buy things based on the reviews. Sometimes they are willing to give it a shot on the chance that their opinion may vary.
I'm not upset I decided to get into this game, but I am upset to see how it's "progressing".

Happy players play, unhappy players vent on the forums.

So I take it that your not happy?
Nah, not really. I still enjoy the game, and it's by far the most enjoyable MMO I've ever experienced. No regrets.Ace_of_Destiny wrote: »
So, at this rate it would be safe to bet at "some point" you will wish you listened to the "bad reviews" of other players?
Serious question, mate...not messin' with ya.

Never actually played that one. From what I hear it was good in the beginning before turning into crap. Had player housing too I believe?Ace_of_Destiny wrote: »I like it too.
The only MMO I ever liked better was Ultima Online...for the first few years.

It had nothing to do with what was written on the forums at the time. 1.5 years on and the game still has serious issues. Worse still, the direction they are taking it is detrimental to the health of the game. They are driving players away in droves due largely to a lack of foresight. This is a common problem with MMO games in development today. The biggest problem is that developers no longer play the games they develop, instead relying heavily on statistical modelling. A good analogy is any person who thinks they can cook because they read a few books on cooking. There is no substitute for real world experience.
For example, the developers recently introduced IC which is the mashing together of both PvE and PvP content. PvP and PvE are completely different ideologies. They do not mix. It is like taking a bunch of communists and putting them in a room full of fascists. It will never end well. Surprise surprise, a couple months later and IC is dead. All of this should have been easily foreseeable and it would have been if the developers actually played their game. They just don't have the wisdom which comes naturally from time spent playing.

Now, tell the truth, (if you didn't already play) would you hit that button after seeing that on the top page of these forums alone are;
7 threads complaining about VR.
5 threads complaining about lag/crashes.
2 threads complaining all their friends quitting.
And that is ONLY the FIRST page!
That is over half the threads...complaining.
Do you, the players, want ESO to continue?
If so, I would suggest;
1. Be more positive with your posts...or at least with the titles that potential new players see first.
If you have a specific gripe, send it to ZOS directly...they almost ignore forum users anyways, it seems.
2. Use the Search function.
Having numerous threads about the same problem doesn't get it fixed any quicker that having one thread with 1000 posts in it.
2.5 Actually ASK the Mods to consolidate more topics.
This goes with the one above...but is a little more "pro-active".
Instead of 7 threads about one negative thing, ask them to condense them all into one thread...like they do with some topics.
3. For every "complaint" thread you make/read try to post something positive about the game.
Some old hippie did a study and it showed that thinking positive made people feel good...plus, the Devs need a pat on the head every once in a while.
Sorry for this post...but all the negativity just hurts my head after a while, and I can imagine it doesn't look very good to potential new players either.
ESO doesn't have a very good reputation already, and anyone coming here to further research it before buying would most likely not buy it after seeing "our" writings about the state of the game.
Have a Great Day!
