I just did an armor repair through a vendor on a lvl 16 (armor of same lvl), and it was kinda costly....Because it repaired all my old armor in inventory as well! The pieces have same name (holding to learn traits), so I dunno if it would have done everything if other bits had wear, or it's only a set bug. I was using.repairing Seducer/Magnus, in case that's relevant. /Bug'd in-game.

If you choose the quick repair option it fixes all of your damaged armor in your current player inventory. The only way around that is to go to the repair section with the vendor, and manually repair the pieces you want repaired.

That's not a bug, that's the intended way the "repair all" works. If you only want to repair what you're wearing, you need to do it individually item-by-item.

It never did it before. Any time I did repairs, it only fixed what I had on, even if I had similar sets in my inventory.

That's odd. It seems like that's the bug instead, it shouldn't happen that way.

If it didn't do it before (which I doubt - I think you probably just never noticed), that was a bug. This is the way it's worked since PC launch.

It has always repairs everything in my inventory. And I mean everything.

I always forget it works that way and end up with perfectly repaired pair of soul shriven pants. Eggghhh.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

The heroes during times of war, are nothing but mass murderers during times of peace.

Maybe I was reverse bugged.....I pay attention to stuff like that. Does it do that even if an item is in the junk tab?

It just means that whatever you had in the inventory (whether it's a similar sets or just dropped equipment) are fully repaired, which will not affect the "repair all" cost and will only repair the ones damaged in the character armor slots.

It's always done it, it has never changed. You probably never had damaged gear in your pack before, or just didn't notice it.

Yeah, the game has -always- repaired everything, not just the gear you wore, when choosing "repair all". I mean, that's why it says "repair all", instead of "repair current gear"...

Usually it isn't all that noticeble, since few carry many sets of damaged gear around... but its the reason why it may make sense to deconstruct obsolete gear before repairing everything...

Another example of how the merchants in this game really are dedicated...
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

If you are on PC, there's an addon that effectively turns the "Repair All" button into a "Repair equipped only" button.

I know it exists, because I have it installed. But I have almost 40 addons installed, and I honestly don't remember which one does that.

    EDIT:
    Ah, found it!
    Circonian's Tweak-It

The addon does a ton of other things as well (some of which are actually annoying), but it's all configurable, so you can turn off the features you don't want.

@Divinius Wow, that does a lot! I may have to add that. Thanks all for the info.
