Molag Bal final

I have just finished the Council of Alliance and been transported to Coldharbour for the confrontation with Molag Bal - currently looking at Cadwell immediately out of the portal. I am only just Lvl 42 and feel a bit underprepared.
Question:-
Do I have to continue now or can I leave, get a bit higher level and then come back or would you advise just going ahead and dieing several times in the attempt.

The fight scales to your level now but I'm not sure how low he'll get in comparison. I remember the first time I did it before level scaling was a thing. I was level 47 and Bal was level 50. Was a pretty tough fight

You have a bit to do before you fight him.

There are delves and world bosses in coldharbour, so you'll be around 46-48 by the time you fight him.

Plus, he's easy. There are harder world bosses..

You can enter his portal, gain access to vet zones and then wayshrine back to your home area whenever you want. You're not committing yourself to anything by accepting his quest.

edit: sry I misread your post.

You can always leave and come back if you're feeling somewhat underpowered. You could also give it a go. I thought i was underpowered when i first had to face him so i really prepared, only to realize i had made the fight extremely easy for me haha

After entering Coldharbour, it'll still be a while before you face him, though. You're entering a new realm with new adventures so i suggest going in!

You fight Molag alone OP, but hes easy as hell to defeat, even before they nerfed him a year or so ago.

Just range him with a bow or something, easier that way IMO.

Thanks guys - do I get any help in this piece of the quest like I did with the Amulet of Kings one?

The more quests you clear in Coldharbour, the more allies you will find that will help you fight him :)

One time I lit Molag Ball up on one of my alts, I only did the bare minimum necessary to access the quest and did not bother with the ally quests as much.

    It can be done IMO.

I was at level 49 when I took him down the first time.I did it with a bow, skills, and circling him all the time while shooting everything I had.At the time I didnt use any Ultimates (too excited to remember to) and made it after what felt like forever.

I hate this level scaling thing. Some quests we used to be able to start, and return when we felt we were stronger and leveled up a bit.The load screens still tell you to do this .Now,if you had a hard time with one boss,..its still the same when you are higher leveled than the quest was when you started it,sadly.

What I like about scaling is that now you can get v16 prismatic weapon from FG final quest. And that's an excellent option if you have 1 extra equipment slot in your build you can't put any set bonus on. Requires a lot of work though unless you had vet toon already which has not completed it yet.

Circle him with dodge rolls and ranged weapons, he seems hard because he is so big but I can assure you that in the sewers there is this 2 flagged guy that puts him to shame.
It took me 3 attempts to win, the first 2 were rough until his pattern showed it's perty little face :)
What's the matter? Did somebody steal your sweet roll?

    I have a level 43 right now and he got a Prismatic Bow,from one of t he Forge quests. I got to use it,but never thought I'd get to keep it.At the end of the quest they gave it to me and I was soo pleased! You mentioned Prismatic weapons,and I just thought of it. :}
