This is a multi-pronged suggestion so bear with me lol
First off, Elemental Affinity. This may be something estranged to The Elder Scrolls (at least in TESV: Skyrim, can't vouch for the other 4 lol) but I think it can have merit in many ways. Allow me to explain:
Currently there are 3 Destruction Staff elements and whichever one you use alters the element of the skills the weapon allows you to use. But what if the character itself had an element applied to it? This could generate a number of benefits!
1. Stronger attacks from the matching element, and weaker attacks from 1 of the 2 other elements, with the third being unaffected. Yes, an Elemental Triangle!
2. Skills that have a default element such as Fiery Breath and Summon Storm Atronach can be modified based on your Affinity to being able to use Frost Breath or Summon Frost Atronach for instance.
3. The element you choose can grant you some resistance to it, and some weakness to its counterpart as per the above mentioned Elemental Triangle. Vampires could especially benefit from this!
Those are just some examples but the list could go on. Now for how it works:
All characters start off non-elemental. This means they are neutral to all 3 and can remain so if they wish. A Shrine would be added to each faction's capitol to pray at. Praying at this shrine will cost Gold of course (let's say 1000 as a starting point for discussion) and praying to the shrine grants you either Fire, Ice, or Lightning Affinity. Once you choose one the option will be replaced to remove your affinity and go neutral again if you wish to, but it will still cost gold lol
So that's my idea on Elemental Affinity. Now about Diseases...
Poison is poison, and it works as it should, but (and this has been mentioned by someone before but I forget who) Disease should have crippling effects, especially since it's so rare and the only way to use it beyond being a Werewolf is to enchant your weapon with it. Anyway the Disease element should offer a negative effect to apply to victims. For instance, if a Werewolf hits you with Infectious Claws or 1 of its morphs it will reduce the victim's Max Stamina similarly to how Pulsar reduces Max Health. If a Disease Enchantment hits an enemy however, it will reduce their Max Magicka instead since enchantments are magical by nature. An alternative method to this is give Vampires a skill that does Disease Damage and this as well! In any case as it stands now I believe it is safe to assume no one cares about Disease damage so this might change things up a bit!
So, thoughts?
