So I propose to you a question.

I grew up role playing on ios games, so when I first got my computer I was harshly taught that godmodding, meta gaming, and all the other things noob role players do is wrong. On all my previous games rp involved whomever had the bigger imaginination and whomever had the craziest ideas ended up winning (yes, it was always a fight of sorts). After learning how you ACTUALLY role play, I came to be unimpressed with how we all do it on eso. Granted, I'm grateful for ALL the rules such as no god modding, meta gaming, etc etc. Sadly, I've yet to find a good roleplay guild, or any good role play at all.

Every RP guild out there seems to be one of two things- Extremely paranoid about who can and can't join (ooc, like what the heck?) or the guild isn't creative enough to fit a character backstory into their PREMEDITATED guild story. I understand having a guild base line, but this is RP. You can't turn away a werewolf mercenary because your guild is a noble house... I mean be imaginative here folks who protects all the nobles? If you are a role player you need to be able to mesh stories. I've attempted to join several RP guilds, and they had some really cool ideas for initiation into the guild. But what turned me off was that they were premeditated ideas. Everybody did exactly as they were instructed. Nobody spoke out of turn. No character emotions or personalities were shown. Next, afterwards and at a local tavern my character got angry at another for something, so a minor spat was started (not an obnoxious one, but an ic, rp, spat). I was then kicked from the guild, told to *** off, and when I asked why I was kicked it was because I didn't "Follow the script". I'm sorry. This is role play. There is a formula, but there are variables as well.

Can somebody tell me WHY I am running into crazy rpers? Am I the crazy one and rp in eso is following a script? Does anyone KNOW any good AD rp guilds that accept people under the age of 25?

Thanks for your time, heading to Martial Arts right now.

I don't know if the AD RP guilds are that much different than the ones I go to in EP, but I would normally expect a lot of guilds not to be that great at all. Some of them follow scripts and some of them just don't. If you join the more public guilds that have some sort of reputation in the general RP communities, chances are that they sort of follow scripts. After all, it is a fact in lore that werewolves are despised by mer and men because of their known brutality and uncontrollable urges. They are also linked to Hircine, a Daedra Prince, and not many people appreciate the Daedra. In TES lore, there are established environments that come along with their own consequences, and you are meant to follow through with your own actions along with their aftereffects. Same thing with the real world... You kill someone, you become hated in society and the police will be searching everywhere for you.

If you much rather the pure, artistic imaginative world of TES lore... You could either find a group of friends to create a guild for your own means, or find one that is designated for all-out-RP-BS-royale. I do recommend the latter since most guilds that are created only within personal circles of friends seldom last long. Still, I would rather witness my character going through all of the joys and pains to accomplish something or fail. It is the outcomes of our choices and shows us our characters' true colors. It is what makes a story worthy of song. If you want to discuss more, I'll be around since content like these can give us and those lurkers something to think about. Yes, it is a good thing.

    K. I meant script not as in proceed through lore but as in they literally had a script, like a play.

Then I guess you attract crazy RPers like a magnet. In the three RP dedicated guilds I'm currently in, we don't follow through a scripted play.

If those "scripted role-plays" are anything as awesome as Sheogorath's play, then I call them a winner.

Your story sounds like a nightmare. I came from WoW, where I only RP'd there in a guild where insutling one another and having spats was common and welcome as it developed characters. Scripted stuff... It sounds ridiculous.

Sounds like you would have had some fun with my old RP guild. There were never any scripts for anything. We had events that we planned (ranking ceremonies, marriages, dungeon run, things like that) but non of it was scripted. When we all decided "Hey, lets go RP at this tavern", we had no idea if it was going to be a chill night, or one where our friends would get rejected by lesbians. So much fun we had. But, as all good things do, it came to an end. Players left for reasons. Two of us (myself included) ended up creating a new guild to mirror that one. Brand new and looking for new folks.

All of my RP Guilds are fantastic, and so are the people in them. We don't do "scripts" or anything like that. We have Guild-wide campaigns, arcs that focus on developing and growing our individual characters, lots of impromptu casual spur-of-the-moment RPs (especially in An-Xileel, things get out-right hilarious a lot of the time). It really is just a matter of finding a good Guild, which can be hard to find.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood
