They need to put a debuff on more skills, obviously CD is against their ethos so it might be the best option, I know if I spent half an hour swinging a massive sword in one particular way I would need something pushed back in. We have debuffs on dodge rolls, bolt escape etc. so why not add more? It would make finding a solid rotation harder and therefore stop spammables, drop average dps (making hybrids more accessible) and it would make both PvE and PvP more challenging; maybe lessen the feeling of everything being dumbed down, which is the trend in current AAA mmo's I find.

We get 10 slots. 10 spots does not give enough space for multiple ST dmg abilities without sacrificing utility, especially since toggles take up 2 spots. There's only room for a couple attacks man, anything more than that is taking away your flexibility for diverse combat situations. Adding cooldowns is a bad idea, adding scaling cost for multiple uses is a bad idea.

I agree, the big dif with eso from other mmos is cooldown (or lack there of) I personally would hate to see cool downs, not because of the mechanism but because of eso uniqueness

Who are these people who evaluate games based on death recaps?

You have no idea how many skills that player used. All you know is how they caused damage.

And think about it for a moment. Hold back on knee jerk reactions. Are you suggesting they use a lesser skill for damage instead of the skill that you seem to be doing a poor job of avoiding?

For a game of this scale, there's not really that many attacking options to choose from. If you remove the useless spells... well you know what I mean.

In my NB i have 4/10 skills for damage
In my Templar i have 5/10 skills for damage
In my Sorc i have 8/15 (Overload skill bar) for damage
In my DK i have 5/10 skills for damage

So i no need spam one single skill to kill somebody, but of course....is so much easy press one single button until your enemy is dead....valid? yes of course, fun? i don't think so...skill needed? definitely NO

Being out-numbered, that's what beat you. It's a free for all pvp environment, what do you want done? By your own admission it's easy to counter 1v1.

Be killed for two guys is not only a outnumbered question, if you have enough skill, and some luck, you can win in a 2v1 or kill to someone at least

But being killed by one or even two guys who only knows spam the same skill, even when you are dodging or blocking they still spamming again and again with the only idea of get empty your stamina ....is very frustrating and really makes you think about of why you are trying to learn to play if two noobs can kill you easiest with these crap game mechanics....

When you are killed almost instantly between 2 guys with a good combo, at least those guys deserves kill you, are better than you and nothing more

    But the spammers....

Amazing, the art of PvP is at last where it belongs, in the spam-skill-department.

...and please spare me ago your so called fixes, which have major impact on PvE. A global cooldown or individual skill cooldown ? of course this is not an insane idea, of course not.

So which is it? Is one spammer easy to kill or not? You've completely contradicted yourself.

I just don't understand this - "They killed me, but not skillfully".

Some want to stop skill spamming, but instead of creative suggestions that would reward players for using a wider array of skills they spew dense BS like "There should be increasing costs for repeated skill use".

Truth is they just want to punish gameplay they disagree with. They don't care about improving they game, they just want to force everyone else to play in the way they think is correct.

Now I don't mean debuffs in the sense that you are unable to use a skill, I mean a debuff in the sense that in other mmo's or even card based strategy games for eg. one attack would open up a weakness to another, such as opening vulnerability to the elements, make one attack exposes a weakness to fire/ice/dark magic, etc. weakening blows such as physical. I know it's a bit late to re-write game mechanics but it's very simple as we have it, another bar for toggled abilities would have been the way to go from the start but meh.

This is exactly how Final Fantasy XIV Online works, and I hated it. It made it so you were forced to use skills in one specific order to make them effective and it ruined the game for me. Made me feel like a robot doing the same thing over and over with almost no variation. If someone wants to spam a skill against me let them, I will adjust and use it against them.

More like: Cloak, Rally, Grim Focus, Camo Hunter, Ambush, Heavy Attack, Surprise Attack, Surprise Attack, Surprise Attack Cloak, Vigor.

The problem with the recap is all you will see is:

    Ambush,
    Heavy Attack,
    Surprise Attack,
    Surprise Attack,
    Surprise Attack

you don't see any of the other management that happens that don't affect you through direct damage.

I am sure on my Templar all people see are Puncturing Sweep over and over on death recap. They don't see my constant Purifying Ritual, Channeled Focus, BoL, Entropy, Dark Flare or all the other skills I use.

Having a specific rotation might be more interesting type of gameplay, though I think ZoS has tried to implement this type of play with the release of certain item sets that never caught on.
It would be interesting to see more synergy between class skills and weapon abilities to some degree. I don't think increasing the cost on skills is the way to motivate people to use a rotation. If anything people would abandon the game all together.
