Good class complement for desto staff

Hey all. Just got an opinion question for those that have been around longer than me... but whats a good complement class for a destruction staff build? (note: i don't want to say "best class" because i doubt theres a "best" here lol).

I'm still pretty much a newb and have been playing a sword/shield dragonknight as my first main character. He's still fairly low level and i'm enjoying him, but i want to try an alternate playstyle for giggles so figured i'd make things explode with magic. I suppose i COULD just level up my dk's destro staff, etc. but i've been focusing on hp/stam with him and basically nothing in magica. His secondary weapon alternates between a 2h and dw... still playing with it.

Anyway, i'm thinking of making a character that is focused on destro staff with maybe a resto staff alternate (for regen if nothing else), and i'm considering classes (and races at that, for passives).

High elf or dunmer seems to be the best race choices (i'm open to options) and Sorc could be a no-brainer class... but also i know this game lends itself to a zillion builds on different classes... so i thought i'd start up a discussion and see what comes out

So... TL;DR: starting a new character. Want to be pure magica explosions type. What class would you recommend?

If you already have a S/B DK then I would roll a Sorc on another toon or I guess start leveling up the Detro/Resto/Mage tree if you are lower level on your current DK to do everything.

At end game having both options on a DK is really nice, mine is solely Staff/Fire DK magicka and at end game I am not going to go back and try to level S/SH so it is a bit limiting.

V16 Firemage DK/ Detro/Restro 5 Hvy/2 Light.

Anyone can use a Stick, they do benefit from being used by a Caster though. So, that would mean a magic based character. Best races for that are High Elf and Breton. As for Class, anyone can work really.

I get lots of nice explosions from my Templar.

Try a Pet Sorc build with Destro Staff main wep and Resto Staff off wep.

for one, i'm not sure if i want to level my dk with a staff... he's only level 20 right now but i have ZERO points in magica and i made him an imperial because of the tanking stats. My whole vision of him (if thats the right term lol) is a sword/board warrior that can swap to a melee dps style when i want (still debating 2h vs. dw... but thats another discussion ).

So from the responses so far i'm thinking Breton Sorc then, using destro staff main, resto staff off.
