✭You will always have use for those stones since they are the best and fastest way to get v16 potency runes.
As it stands, it may be even the only way. So far, noone on pts has reported to have received v16 potency runes from nodes or hirelings. -

But vr16 runes will be 1/2 price when Orisinum comes out. So will all the TV stone VR 16 gear. They basically are phasing out IC in a month. How does that make sense?

Hirelings will also provide more mats for V15-16 and there will be nodes to harvest them.
Requirements for crafting V16 seem unchanged (130-150 mats)
Rubedite Ingot / Rubedo leather / Ancestor Silk / Ruby Ash = 50 T`V (from 100)
V15 Runes = 80 T'V (unchanged)
V16 Potency Runes = 400 T'V (from 800)
V15 Water = 40 T'V (unchanged)
Charcoal of Remorse (Xivkyn Style mat) = 100 T'V (unchanged)
V12 Blue Set Gear = 1000 T'V (unchanged)
V16 Purple Set Gear = 5000 T'V (from 10000)
Green/Blue up to V15 Armor Boxes = 600/800 T'V (unchanged)
Blue/Purple V16 Armor Boxes = 3000/4000 (from 6000/8000)
