Weapon skill lines?

Hey guys wanted to get your opinions on weather weapon skill lines do enough for a person to make a full char around them.

IE: making a archer and only using the bow skills no class ones or a duel wield with the same or a 2 hander? do they do enough or are class skill just far better in ever way??

Interesting idea... I could see avoiding class skills, but there are more options than just weapon lines.

Undaunted, mages, soul, ledgerdemain and so on.

Well, in every case you'll limit yourself if you only use weapon skills. Most weapons don't offer any real self heal or shield and you'll lack a lot of utillity skills. If you still want to do it, just for fun I'd recommend 2 handed, as it is the only weapon skill line that includes damage skills and a self heal.

Weapon skill lines alone are possible, though difficult, since they usually lack a few things... most notably, an untimate... and in many cases, are also weak on selfheal and/or protective abilities... but it IS doable. Not as effective, but certainly doable.
If you also add guild skills to the mix, it becomes much more viable.

Personally I prefer to level up ALL my characters skills, so I keep my options open. Yes, I have one who is mostly using weapon skills, and it works well enough to get me through the content. Still occasionally using the class skills just to level them, because... well, one can never know, right?

Yea it seems like it could be really cool, just needs the utility.

Could even go one bar full weapon skill line with the second bar utility.

was just wondering if you would lose alot of damage from not using the class skills, or if the weapon skill line spells do just as much damage as the class ones.

His point is that stam sorcs have no class skills to use for stamina so we have to build almost entirely on weapon and guild/world skills.

It's always best to combine different skill lines. Start by choosing your preferred weapon and play style, and then see what skill lines compliment them. For example, if you choose Bow and decide to focus primarily on stamina, it would be a good idea to choose another skill line with some good stamina passives (like medium armor) - and also, some class skills also have passives that may compliment further, like having just one slotted ability that gives you a useful passive (like a boost to stamina, health, or magicka).
In any case, make sure to read through all your available skill lines. Yes, it takes some time, but it's the best way to figure out what works for you. Don't limit yourself. And be creative

Well this is not entirely true as most stam sorcs use boundless storm or other morph....
